I am new to this forum and I know as a new H3 owner, I shouldn't worry about such petty things, but I did a Google search and the following thread appeared pretty high:

These clowns clearly do not know what they are talking about, but I still found their ignorant comments too annoying to ignore. The kicker is when some moron at the end actually claims that the wrangler is better offroad than either an H2 or H3.

I absolutely love my H3 by the way and quite proud to call myself a Hummer owner now! This is a great community as well.

I think you will see alot of converts comming over form jeep, as the H3 becomes more popular.
More bang for the buck, The H3 has Rubicon capabilities and more confort.

I agree with XM. I was settled on a Wrangler Unlimited until I drove the H3. The H3 blew it away; similar or better offroad ability, far better road manners, immensely more practical, much safer, a lot more comfortable...and killer looks.

The venerable Jeep TJ may be tough, but its badly badly outdated and really overpriced. A lot of Jeep buyers are surprised when they learn their 4WD is, except in deep snow, mostly unusable on pavement. I was fairly shocked when I learned what basic compromises I'd have to swallow with a Wrangler..no ABS, hazardous gas tank location, no cargo capacity, truly cheesy and spartan amenities...this with a $25K+ MSRP; over $30K for a Rubicon!

Since SUVs became mostly heavy expensive grocery-getters, Jeep's pretty much had a lock on the serious offroad user. H3 is going to change that; its the updated Cherokee that D-C wouldn't build.

GM is now bulding what the XJ should have been. DC really has their head up and locked on this, lets face it I was a jeep lover for a long time, but at $30,000 for a basic vehicle, I'm sorry that is a ripoff in my book. Hummer rules and they will dominate jeep in off roading.

Jeep convert here too, and my Jeep is also up for sale.
I wonder, if due to the H3, the market will be flooded with old Jeeps?

I have to agree also. I've had 5 Jeeps cj's, wrangler's and just traded in a Rubicon for a H3 I picked up Saturday. I'm new to the forum but have been reading some of the threads and it has helped in my decision.

I don’t think the H3 will change the Wrangler market all that much. A base Wrangler can still be picked up for less than $19k. Granted it is not nearly the H3’s equal in many areas but you can still take it more places than the average Soccer Mom SUV.

Most people just use them as daily drivers. I would guess the age of the average Wrangler owner is most likely in the low to mid 20’s. I’m sure there are plenty of exceptions out there, myself included (36 years old, but I have the body of a 23 year old, I keep it buried out behind my shed), but your average 24 year old can’t really afford the entry-level price of $30k (again I’m sure there are plenty of exceptions).

Also look at the following the Wrangler has. How many other cars can say they have a dedicated magazine? Not that many. And look at the after market product options. I get more catalogs pertaining specifically to jeeps than I can count.

You know what DC has to do to sell Wranglers? Build them. That’s it. No advertising, fewer incentives (as a whole), Go-Cart companies spend more money on R&D. It’s a no brainer for them, “If you build it they will buy” I know, this is my 4th (and most likely not my last)

I will have to agree, unless DC does something stupid and redesigns the Jeep into a wussy car. This probably won't happen.
I would say the H3 is a bigger competitor against the Cherokee. Let's face it, only way to fit four large adults into a Wrangler is t wrap the legs of the back seat passengers around their necks. I know my over 6'5" sons told me NO.

I will say that my 20 year old dedicated Wrangler son drooled all over my H3 this weekend, and would have traded in the Jeep in a second, if Dad offered to buy him a H3 in place of his Jeep (won't happen).

The '07 Jeep TJ will be an all new model; wider, hardtop with removable panels, 3.7 V6 engine, rumored turbodiesel option. If I knew what it was going to look like and more details, D-C might persuade me to postpone my decision for 6-8 months (supposed to be an early release). If it looks like their "Rescue" concept, it could be a winner. But they're not issuing any official info at all, and I'm not going to postpone simply on speculation.

I think the Hummer factor will force Jeep to improve the Jeep line as the H3 is a good bang for the buck.

Comparing the wrangler and the H3 is comparing complete opposites. The Wrangler is designed to be basic off road, no leather, pwr windows, seats or any of that stuff and removable top, doors and fold down windshield with drain holes in the interior for when you take it into a creek or leave the top off and have rain poor into it. The only thing similar between the two it 4wd. Tha H3 comes as a luxury package. If your going to compare it to something use the grand cherroke or the new commander, at least use something in the same category

It isn't really a comparison of both vehicles for overall usability, it is a comparison of their off roading capabilities. Since the Wrangler is the only Jeep that is comparable to any of the Hummer line as far as off road capability that would be the reason for the comparison. This is a comparison that is always made with the H2 as well. Everyone knows that the H3 is by far more of a luxury vehicle than a Wrangler but the GC can't compare to an H3 off road.
