Hello all,
I wonder if anyone can shade some light on this issue. About three weeks ago, I bought my H3:
Premium Package
Off Road Package
Sunroof
Side Rails
Chrome Package
XM Radio
Everything is perfectly fine with the exception of a very annoying wind noise when driving above 55 or 60 MPH. I thought this was completely normal because of the H3's shape. However, a couple of days ago I rented an H3 in Denver, Co. and noticed absolutely no wind noise whatsoever on the road even at speeds above 80 MPH. The only difference between the rental and my H3 is the fact that the rental didn't have a sunroof. However, everything else was the same.
Do any of you know if the sunroof aggravates wind noise? If not, what do you guys think this could be attributed to? I don't have the marker lights either.
Thanks for any info you can provide!

Marker lights could be the cause of this.. do you have marker lights installed?

If you have the roof crossbows, try moving them to different spots, slid them foward or back, If they are just in that right spot, you'll have wind noise...

Because I noticed a disturbing wind noise when driving around at high speeds with CLOSED in-dash vents. Seems like the air is trying to make its way through the closed vents, thereby causing the noise.

I have more of a wind howl on my h3 base. It occurs in 5th gear between 47 and 52 mph and expecially when I am behind another car.

Thanks for all the input guys. I do not have the marker lights. I will play with the roof crossbows, they might be the cause. The A/C vents are open, so that isn't the cause. I heard that the sunroof will cause higher wind noise even when closed. In other words, H3's without sunroof should be quieter, I don't know if this is true because I have only driven one with a sunroof and one without, but not enough trucks to know for sure if this is the cause or just some other kind of problem with mine.

I understand that there is no vehicle that is 100% quiet. However, I do notice a huge, but I mean HUGE difference between mine and this rental. This rental is absolutely quiet and any wind noise is simply normal as it is not loud enough to cause aggravation. Mine, on the other hand is loud at any speed above 60 and loud to the point of being annoying.

Sunroof open, so I can feel the wind blow, I don't give a damn if it cracks my back window...
Oh, sorry. I have the sunroof as well, and it's all quiet on the Western front. Crossbows baby. Had a "whistle" noise at 70 MPH, but moving the bows a bit helped. ****, I saw a Porsche Cayenne with their roof racks 1 foot apart all the way to the back. Either the guy was a dumbass or he had wind problems.
Try it. You might like it!
