I searched n searched n could not find any info. Does anyone know if there is a backup/reverse switched wire or fuse I can tap a relay to, INSIDE the cabin? Would HATE to have to run the tap from the trailer plug outside...

Thanks for info...

Here's a wiring schematic and a description of the backup lamps circuit.

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR>Backup Lamps
The backup lamp request signal is sent from the powertrain control module (PCM) to the body control module (BCM) on the Class 2 message system. This signal is based on the park neutral position (PNP) switch signal. The BCM supplies voltage on the backup lamp supply voltage circuit to the backup lamps and to the automatic day/night mirror. Voltage for the courtesy lamp supply voltage circuit and backup lamp supply voltage circuit is from the TBC B fuse in the instrument panel fuse block directly through the BCM to these circuits. A short to ground on either of these circuits will open the fuse. The backup lamps are grounded at G401.

For trailer wiring, a separate backup lamp circuit is connected through the underhood fuse block from the TRLR B/U 10 A fuse to the trailer wiring harness.

Klaus, I read n read n could not understand your reply (you have waaayy overestimated my knowledge ). I plan to get power from SEO ACCY which is ignition switched (right?). So, for the relay signal to close the circuit when transmission is in "R", do I tap relay signal from TCB B? Light green wire? help... THANKS KLAUS!

Okay, I can't find any fuse labeled TCB B, only TBC 2B.

I did find TWO light green wire under the dash. Can I tap to either for the relay input?

Klaus? PhilD? Anyone else did their own backup sensor/camera install? Thanks..

I haven't done a backup camera install, so I have no prior knowledge. I'll try to find out more info tonight for you.

According to the schematic, there are two LT GRN wires (one larger than the other) that connect to the I/P Relay Block. Connecting a relay to either wire should work.

I'd suggest you use a voltmeter to be sure you have the correct circuit.

The other option would be to tap into the TRL B/U Fuse (10A) circuit in the Underhood Fuse Block.

(my voltmeter doesn't have those aligator clip thingy)

If I don't get any update from you tonight, I'll attach the relay to one of the light green and hope for the best. Thanks Klaus!
