Welcome to the forum. There are a few that have leased. Do a search and you will find some of the rates they got. I did catch the tail end of an ad last week that said something like $399/mo for 36 months. Don't know the details because I only caught a split second of it.

I saw the tail end of an H3 add saying the same thing. Unfortunatly I havent been able to see it again or find anything about it on the web .

If you find it please let us know.

Based on the rates that others have gotten I am guessing that this is on a base or maybe adventure model and/or a sizable down payment. If I find out anymore, I will let everyone know.

Yeah - that's gotta' be a base model and/or a hefty down payment. I used GMID for mine (Lux, chrome, sunroof, etc.) and I'm paying $534/month for 36 months with no down payment. Not sure what the lease deals are right now but I believe my interest rate is 7.75% and the residual was 64%.

That deal was for a stripo base model...

Got an ad sitting here from the Orlando Business Journal for an H3 36 month lease for $379. As all dealer ads do, sounds great unless you look at the fine print. Listed features are all standard on the Base model like power windows except the black side steps. You are limited to 10K miles a year and you have to put down $3K. Not a deal in my book for a vehicle with one option and it is one of the cheaper ones at that.

Why would you lease a vehicle such as the H3 ??
Any damage done from off roading it will cost you at the end of the lease.

""Why would you lease a vehicle such as the H3 ??

So, it wouldn't cost you anything to fix it if you were buying instead of leasing?? You are going to have to fix it no matter what.

I did a one payment lease for $12,100 (tax tags not included) with GMID. Auto, adventure package, Trailer hitch, monsoon, roof rack, and step bars. 2 year lease 15k/miles per year. I din't want to have another monthly bill. The GMID took about $3k off of the sticker price. Doing the one payment lease saved me a little over $1k versus paying it monthly.

Heres an example I just worked...
H3 with luxury, auto, chrome side steps, sunroof, chrome appearance package, off road suspension, wrap around brush guard, XM radio and a tow pkg...

24 month 12k miles per year
$380 with GMS.
(1300 total out of pocket + tax)

There are some things that can happen to your vehicle while off roading that would not warrant "fixing" but could be viewed as beyond "normal wear & tear" by your leasing agent. My friend leased a Dodge Durango and at some unknown point he dented the skid plate & at the end of his lease they made him pay to replace it. The skid was still very functional and would not have been replaced had he owned the truck outright.

I believe that is the best lease deal I have seen so far.

ODAMO, I agree there are negatives to leasing but there are also benefits. It all depends on what works best for you and to each their own.

If I could up this to 15K miles for $400 I would be all over that.

Saw a comment in another thread that leads me to believe that you work at a dealership. Is this why you were able to get such a good deal?

I went to the dealership last weekend and the residual was 75%... on a 2 year 10k mile lease. Do they fluctuate a lot? I'm not going to purchase this until mid-december.

I do work at a dealership. Good detective work.

I've been lurking here for a while, mainly to see what owners think... likes and dislikes. I don't always get a lot of feedback from my customers, when I read here it's something new everyday.

I definitely do not know a ton, probably not much more than most of you guys, but I'll always be willing to help when I can.

-H3fan, those rates and residuals will be good thru the end of the month, from there I can't promise... but I suspect they will extend thru December.
