Is there such thing as a roof track bracket? as the 2 brackets that holds the roof bar. I found some neat wireless remote control cameras which I can rotate 180 degrees up, down left & right. No wiring required except at LCD and receiving unit. Only about $170 for 2 color/night vision cameras with radar like curve plate antennas and remote control plus hardwares, LCD not included. There are few logical points of installation, in addition to inside the Hummer through dark tinted glass. Mounting on rear lense guard is too low thus risky to theft, the roof looks like the best spot. If roof track bracket is available, then I can mount one on each side at the rear of Hummer. No drilling is required.

If you know such brackets are available, please kindly inform me.

Thule makes H2 track brackets for bike racks. These could possibly be adapted to meet your needs.

Got a good reply from the above mentioned X-10 cameras seller.

Hi MAC,

Thank you for writing. Unfortunately, the 2-Camera (3 or 4) Wireless systems will not operate with an auto power supply. This is because any of the multi-camera packages (having two or more XCam cameras) utilize powerline carrier technology (aka, "X-10") which must utilize the existing AC wiring inside a home or other building to send ON & OFF commands to the camera. In addition to this, we do not recommend using wireless cameras for your type of application. As with all wireless devices, the more metallic objects (such as the metal on your vehicle) the video signal must pass through, the more risk you take in not receiving a good and clear signal.

That said, however, as for mounting onto a vehicle, you may be interested in using one (or more, depending on how many accessory power sockets you have available in your H2) of our Bullet cameras. We recommend our rugged
Water-Resistant B/W Bullet Camera or our B/W or Color Night Vision Bullet Cameras. About the size of a thin tube of lipstick, these cameras offer a larger and more expensive fiber optic systems, yet they are small enough to be unobtrusive. To use these in your vehicle, you would also have to modify the connector to fit your application, and this modification would void the warranty and our return policy. Parts to make this modification can be found at a local retailer such as Radio Shack.

Black-and-white cameras typically require less light, which makes them ideal for
most applications. Here is a link for more information on the Water-Resistant B/W Bullet Camera: http://www.gadgethome.com/scstore/p-CLCM600W.html

The following Night Vision Bullet Cameras do not require any light, so they work in complete darkness! Each camera has 12 InfraRed LED's which provides light that is not visible to the human eye. For more information on these cameras, please use any of the following links:

Outdoor B/W version:

Outdoor COLOR version:

Please let us know if you have any questions, or if we can help in any way.
Thank you for your interest!
Happy Holidays!
