POSSIBLE SOLUTION FOR BETTER MPG
Need input from anyone that has used Lucas Oil Fuel Treatment & Fuel Injector Cleaner in their H2. I've heard from both engineers and race enthusiats that consistent use of this product will improve MPG by 2 -3 MPG and that you will notice the increase after the 2nd treatment. I'm in the process of trying this and have put one treatment in and have ordered a case (4 gallons) to see if these claims have any validity. Please share your knowledge/experience with this product if you have used it. Thanks!

Re: POSSIBLE SOLUTION FOR BETTER MPG
What does each container cost, how much fuel does it treat, and how often do you need to use it?

did you hear this improvement was an increase for the H2?
See, there are dynamics with the H2 that stuff like this simply are not going to overcome. Namely weight and aero. You have a big heavy brick moving through the air. It's not going to get good mileage, period.
But I'll be damned if it doesn't do pretty good off-road.

Pure snake oil. Now get two hot chicks to rub themselves down with said snake oil and I'd be interested.

Re: POSSIBLE SOLUTION FOR BETTER MPG
Hello all I have contacted the Admin of this site to become a supporting vendor . I own TuneTimePerformance.com we sell PCM Flash for all 3 Hummers with the H2 we have recorded 2 mpg increase around town and with cruise set to 65mph [ It's so hard to do .LOL. ] we have extended the range by 75miles . Our tunes are undetectable by the Dealer and are available Live from 2 locations NJ and Dallas TX or we can do it by mail. There is also a gain in HP even on 87 oct. 20-23hp and 28-30tq . I'm not trying to be disrespectful to the board I have taken the appropriate actions to become a supporting vendor. Retail is $495 and at 2 mpg it will pay for it self within a year if you go 12k .
BTW I'm not trying to hyjack your thread.

Re: POSSIBLE SOLUTION FOR BETTER MPG
Snake oil...besides modern injectors don't get dirty in one fuel fill, they take thousands of miles. Run a bottle of Techron through the system every 5K, it will keep the injectors clean, top of the pistons clean, but unless you have really clogged injectors, and/or your top engine is crusty, it will not increase your fuel mileage.
ludicrist: "BTW I'm not trying to hyjack your thread." Really??? Strange statement for someone who placed an Ad in another person's thread.

No. I have not heard any comments prior to this thread concerning anyone using the lucas fuel injector cleaner in an h2. I'm trying it out and I'll post my results when finished.
I value your opinion and thank you for responding.

Thanks for your reply. Since I'm trying to gather information based upon actual useage please advise if your comment is based upon you actually using this product in an h2, or is your comment based upon something else (i.e. engineering background, etc). Thanks for your input.

Re: POSSIBLE SOLUTION FOR BETTER MPG
I'll base it upon engineering input. GM, as well as every other manufacturer tests almost all of these aftermarket additives, and so far, very few will show any noticeable increase in HP or fuel mileage.
The oil I'm not sure of, it could make the existing oil slicker, cutting down on friction; however, the modern engine is designed to have as little friction as necessary to increase HP and fuel mileage.
However, the fuel injector cleaner, that they want you to run in each tankful is ludicrous. Read my previous post, fuel is not that dirty, injectors are designed to not crust over from spray back of fuel as they did years ago. So, why would you have to run it all the time. In addition, if you want to keep the injectors clean, run one of the Top-Tier fuels in the tank, and these Top-Tier fuel companies use larger than required amounts of cleaning additives in their fuel, so the chance of an injector clogging is almost impossible.
The Top-Tier fuel requirements are set by GM, Honda, BMW and two more companies, and include Shell, Chevron, Conoco, and quite a few other companies.
It's your money, and if you feel like doing it, do it. Keeps the economy running.

Re: POSSIBLE SOLUTION FOR BETTER MPG
The only way these additive products will show any improvement is if there is a problem with contaminants in the fuel system . I recently purchased a can of MAF cleaner from CRC right on the can it claims 6-10 hp from this is it a gain no but you may have lost it from the OIL on the K&N getting on the MAF . [ you guys that are running K&N or any oiled filter should be cleaning the MAF every 10-12k a dirty MAF can cause erratic shifting and reduce performance.] See I'm not hijacking the thread you guys are looking for better MPG and I'm telling you how you can actually get it . I only tune about 25 GM products a week and 50% get a Fuel economy tune with a slight bump in HP .

Re: POSSIBLE SOLUTION FOR BETTER MPG
This technique was posted on a previous thread... but it works! If you're wanting to get outstanding MPG everyday, you have to try the EGG technique. Stick the EGG under the gas pedal, and drive. Now, if you break the EGG, you're pushing your truck to much. Easy does it on the pedal, know your pressure on the EGG, and you'll save lots of $. Try it today.

The egg keeps rolling out from under the gas pedal and back under my seat. Does the egg method involve use of duct tape to keep it in place?

Does the egg have to be raw, hard boiled, or cooked over easy?

Re: POSSIBLE SOLUTION FOR BETTER MPG
Another way to improve fuel mileage.
Obtain:
1/2 pound of C4
Pressure switch
Relay
Wire
Place the C4 under the driver's seat.
Wire the relay terminals 87 to B+, terminal 30 to the C4, terminal so that when the internal relay switch closes, B+ goes to the C4.
Wire terminal 86 to B+, then wire terminal 85 to one terminal on the switch, and the other terminal of the switch goes to ground.
Place the pressure switch approximately 1/4 inch below the accelerator pedal. Give the driver a great incentive NOT to press the accelerator pedal down past this 1/4 inch.

Re: POSSIBLE SOLUTION FOR BETTER MPG
I kinda like the displacement on demand thingy...So-Go pull the plug wires on cylinders 1,2,5+6. Instant double of your fuel economy. Put em back on B4 wheeling for max power.

That would be a good incentive for the uneducated, but you forgot one very important part to make it real.
