Oil change?
do you get your oil changed at the dealer or just a jiffy lube? If you do go to a jiffy lube is there anything that you have to tell them?
also i notice the engine oil % meter on the computer... if someplace like jiffy lube does the oil change how does this get reset?

I take mine to Jiffy Lube. Once in a while don't screw the oil filter on right and it leaks. The guys at Jiffly lube DO reset the % meter.

Re: Oil change?
I wouldn't let Jiffy Lube change the oil in my lawn mower! I never had nothing but issues with them, lose oil plugs, cross threaded oil plugs, not changing the oil filter, breaking the hood latch on my wifes Mercedes and the icing on the cake was the time they didn't tighten the oil filter and my rig unloaded its cargo on my garage floor.... I had to have it towed to my mechanic!
never again, I just have it done at the dealer for free or at my mechanics, depending on where I am.

Dealer. The first two are free and it's still cheap after that. I can just pull right up to the service bay and right onto the rack.

Funny story........
Last time I took it to Jiffy Lube I heard this major pounding noise. I was the only one there, so I walked around into the garage to see what they were doing to my H2. There were three idiots using a hammer trying to get my winch off (so they could open the hood) . I couldn't believe it. They were trying to pound the hitch pin THROUGH the rig (top down). Unfortunately for those geniouses, the pin lifts UP and has a ridge on it that prevents it from going all the way through (down). Nicely enough, they had actually pounded it half way. I stopped them, and it took me five minutes to pound it back up to get it out.

Re: Oil change?
Changing oil is simple. The only thing I'm worried about is greasing the nipples. I hunt them don but worried I missed a few.

Re: Oil change?
What do your dealers charge for oil change? Mine quoted me $69. Also told me to change every 3k instead of following the % life meter. What do you follow?

I think this all of them;
Upper & lower ball joints on each knuckle (4)
Inner & outer tie rod ends each side (4)
Pitman arm (1)
Idler arm (1)
Idler arm bracket (1)
11 in total.

Re: Oil change?
Is there a posted procedure as to how to change the oil out? I bought oil today to do the change, and will probably have my friend's grandpa help me out with it. The only time I watched, the guy removed the skid plate. Is that needed? I also will probably change the air filter.
