Rear Axle Light Flashing

Hi everyone!! I got my H3 a week ago, and today while driving (not in 4X4) I was at a red light. I don't know if the road was too terribly icy, it didn't seem icy at all. I started driving, then I noticed my axle lock light flashing. It flashed for about 20 seconds, then it stopped. It really freaked me out!

Has this happened to anyone? I am wondering if it happened because the road was slippery and it was regaining traction? Can the rear axle lock engage itself if it needs to?

I called GM and the lady did a quick search but she didn't think that it was normal.
