Compressor Service Part Change

The single rear air suspension compressor used on the 2003 and 2004 HUMMER H2
has been discontinued and is replaced with the dual air compressor used on the
2005 model. The dual compressor can be used to service the prior model vehicles.
The Service Parts Catalog will direct you to order the new dual compressor,
P/N89060581 and indicates that you will also need inflator pipe,
P/N15117941 and intake and exhaust pipe assembly, P/N15117942. Refer
to the 2005 installation instructions foundin SI Document1457105.</P>

Question on Rear Air.

Recently my compressor was not functioning.

My rear began to sag after about 5 days.
Do they slowly leak down??? Or does mine have a slow leak.

Doc, some good exercise should take care of that sagging rear.

What's the difference between the two air compressors?

Yeah, I would recommend bicycling! Sorry, you really left yourself open with that remark.

Seriously, you may have a leak, but probably not given the rate of air loss. Air does manage to seep (osmosis) through rubber, butyl & latex barriers at a slow rate. That’s why bicycle tires will always go flat over time, even without any leak. That's also why your airbags will inflate "on their own" every once in a while. I am clueless on the dual compressor issue, but I would bet Klaus will tell you more soon.

I wonder if I can get my dealer to replace mine under warranty. Really, it is broken... promise.

Klaus, is there any benefit to using the dual air compressor model?

I don't know, Ken... I haven't had any problem with the compressor on my truck.

I'm sure one of the dealership techs here on the forum could tell us more.

I think we discussed this before but I don't remember any of the details. Anyway, if you think your compressor is even close to death, get it done under warranty. It's about $1000 just for the new compressor itself.

Hummertech... do you have any opinion on this? I have an issue with the adventure series air system that only manifests at temps below 45F. At 45F and lower I get a persistent knock (sounds like a solenoid tripping) from the rear, I'm guessing dehydrator or an air system valve..dealer has twice told me that they could not determine/duplicate the fault.
