My husband just got me a new H2 for Mother's Day. It's my favorite color-yellow and I love it. I just wanted to say hi to everyone and join in the community here.

Welcome to the forum. I agree, what does hubby get for father's day? If it tops an H2, maybe you can talk to my wife for me

My husband drives a pewter colored (my kids call it brown) Yukon Denali. I think it's pewter anyway. It's kind of a grayish color.

The more detailed story of how the Hummer happened is this (if you're interested, that is): We were in Disney World this past fall and we walked off Test Track into their auto showroom and saw a yellow Hummer. My kids & I jumped inside it and I fell in love! I loved the big gear shift and the whole Hummer package. We'd just gotten a new car though, so I knew it'd be a few years before we would be looking into getting another one. We had gotten a pearl white Cadillac Escalade, but I was never really satisfied with it and kind of griped about it a lot. We'd bought it from my father in law and he didn't take very good care of it so that really annoyed me.

Anyway, flash forward to MOther's Day weekend and I"m having a garage sale. Hubby is driving me nuts trying to clean and organize the garage during my sale so I told him to go find something to do. He went to buy touch up paint for the Escalade-it was pretty dinged up and saw a yellow Hummer on the car lot so stopped in to have a closer look and next thing I know he's driving home in it. I had final approval, but he didn't really need it-I love it.

Now, what am I getting him for Father's Day? Crap. I didn't even think about that!!! I usually get him a little gift like a cd or a movie, but that probably won't cut it this year. I'll have to start thinking of it.

I love driving it-it's the best car I've ever owned!! I probably won't do any off-roading type stuff. I don't want to scratch it up!

My last 3 cars were white so I was so glad to get something with some color in it! First time in 8 years I've gotten something besides white! Yellow is my favorite color anyway and we definitely stand out on the road!!

I could give you some suggestions for Father's day, but we don't know each other that well and I don't want to get banned from the site. Think along the lines of what might make him as happy as you were getting a new yellow H2. 'nuff said.

Don't be afraid of going off road, check out Mike & Rhonda's Pismo Beach photos.

After 6 months, the first off-road scratch won't feel so bad. You will be amazed at what it can do! You will love it even more. Are you close to any off-roading?
