Thanks for the replies on my previous oil change question, 1 follow-up, several of you mention letting the auto oil monitor system notify me when it needs the next oil change. I currently have just over 3000 miles on my new 2006 H3. The system has not told me to change the oil yet, and I understand depending on driving habits & conditions, it can go upwards of 6-10k miles before it tells you to change the oil. However, I have not done my very First oil change yet. Are you saying to let the monitoring system dictate All oil changes including the very first one, or just subsequent oil changes after the 1st is done? I don't want to run it too long and damage the engine since its still running on the original factory oil/filter. Thanks very much.

[Firm:
How often should you take your H3 in for service? They put this sticker on it that says 3,000 miles. However the receipt says 3750 miles.

First Hummer:
Let the truck tell you when it needs oil change.I have 4600 miles on mine and the oil life is at 78% left.

Waxing:
How can I tell how much oil life I have left. You stated that you have 78% left.

First Hummer:
Wax , you can sign up with Onstar to have your vehicle send you an email with a diognostics of your vehicle each month ,thats where it tells you how much oil life you have left.]
