I purchased a table saw Friday and put it in the back of the H2 to carry it home. There was some towels i use for detailing that were in the way so I put a couple just behind the spare tire. When I closed the door it did not shut completly so I opened and pushed the box in more. This time it closed but just on the right side. I did not know it at the time but a towel had become trapped in the drivers side latch. I tried to open the door, but it would not budge. I gave it a good pull and the whole lock face pulled loose at the bottom. Opps, that was not going to work, so when I got home I went inside removed the tire and pulled the towel out in pieces. Still the door was stuck. My son pulled on the outside while I used needle nose pliers to remove the remaining towel. When all was removed my son pushed on the side where the towel had been and it latched, then the door opened as it normally would. I guess the racking of the door put the passengers side latch in a bind that could not allow the latch to release. Well all seems OK, I think if i do not pull hard on the latch it will stay that way. Warning the latch is not very strong do not pull on it very hard or it may pull loose.

John, Moral of the story is:
If it wont work - force it!
If it still won't work - force it some more!
If it don't work get your kid to force it!
