Is the 4HI Button Always Lit Up?
Guys,
First of all I'm really excited to be part of this Hummer community; This is my first post and I just joined the forum today. 2 days ago I became a proud owner of a 2003 Hummer H2 ... my very first Hummer ... In fact my very first SUV Class vehicle. I'm coming from your regular toyota's ... so this is a big move for me.
Since this is my first Hummer, please bear with me cause there might be some very stupid questions, this one included.
So I noticed that the LED Light next to the 4HI button aways stays on, indicating the vehicle is in 4-Wheel Drive; I was wonderin - does this Hummer always stay in 4-Wheel Drive? Does that button always stay lit? Reading through the manual, I understood shifting in & out of 4HI Lock and 4LO Lock and the need for either; but I wasn't 100% sure if the 4HI is the "standard" position.
I'm sure I will have other questions as I go along ... thanks & appreciate any responses.

Re: Is the 4HI Button Always Lit Up?
H2's are full time 4-wheel drive so yes the light will always be lit up. The other 4 modes are for offroad.

Re: Is the 4HI Button Always Lit Up?
Another question guys ...
I don't see any indication of having turned on your headlamps inside the dashboard, is that normal? In most vehicles, there is an Icon that lights up in the Dashboard that tells you that your headlamps are On or Off; but I don't see anything.
Is the indication icon on the dash possibly broken?
Thanks!

There is no 'headlight' indicator as you're describing on 03-07s that I'm aware of...I typically only see those on foreign cars that don't have the 'auto on/off' headlight feature.
If your headlights are on, your dashboard lights (instrument cluster, various buttons and nobs, etc.) will light up; that's a pretty good indicator in my book.
We do have a high-beam indicator light though...
