Default Ebony Leather Problems, What do you think?

I have my 06 SUT at the dealer for the 3rd time today for leather problems. I took it in the 1st time because many of the panels where literally cracking and the leather surface was peeling away. You can wipe the seat and have black pieces come off. The 1st time my dealer tried to repair, which meant putting some kind of shiny fake looking coating on all the seats and filling in the cracks. I was without my Hummer for 3 days the first time.

The 2nd time, they had my Hummer for 10 days. They replace a few of the bolsters this time as well as the bottom of the 40% split in the back seat. They ordered the bottom for the 60% back seat but the wrong part came in. So after 10 days it was still not finished, unhappy customer! After I took it home and looked at the seats in the light, I noticed panels still had cracks w/peeling and the fake shiny coating is peeling off in spots. Since they put this crappy coating on, the original panels do not even match the new leather that was put on.

I took it in today for the 3rd time. The are supposed to call me this afternoon and let me know what "management" says they will replace. I need all the seating surfaces replaced as they are either peeling or do not match the new leather. I'm afraid the dealer is not going to agree with me.

What would you do and tell Hummer customer service if my dealer does not make me happy? Just wondering other opinions and if any one else has had this problem. It actually started when the vehicle was only months old.

they are obligated to fix that. Its a controlled problem and something that should be covered under warranty.

By law you can call any skin of any animal leather ,so they can take water buffalo and use cheap paint or dye and call it leather GM is notorious for useing cheap hides. if you want the best (first cut cow hide ) try Katskins and redo them after the warentee . I would make them fix what you have under warentee .you should be able to get all the seats don with the good stuff for $1500.00 if you are unable to live with the factory stuff . NO MATTER IF YOUR RICH OR POOR IT'S NICE TO HAVE MONEY .

I've got almost 90K on my H2 now, and the leather is still in pretty nice shape. So I'm sorry to hear yours has given you problems. I do notice that my padding is starting to compact though. The driver's seat is not as comfortable as it used to be.
