When I picked up my H3 on Thurs. I was told that the univ. home link/lighted vanity mirrors are not part of the Lux pkg. any longer, although mine had been ordered in late June and the window sticker even listed these items as being on the vehicle. I really was looking forward to not having my garage door opener on the visor. I don't know if they are separate options now or what, and maybe I should receive some type of credit for not having these on mine.

GM does all sorts of fun things to orders as they come in. Once I got a flash that 3 of the 4 lux H2's i had comming in had been changed to Adventures. So what do i do? I talked the customer into it but I had no control over it. With Hummer offering the 4 year 50k warrenty that is bold comming from them. That alone tells me they have done the studies to back up the quality and cost of that offer. I will wait for the first pre-owned ones to hit next year becasue I can't afford a new one now. Have fun with your Hummers they are like nothing else.

Re: f5fstop's above statement, I agree with everything you said. I just want to clarify that the chrome appearance pkg. was $850, it has been changed to $400 (for the door handles and mirrors) and the bright finished crossbows can be added for $450 now.

I just spoke with my dealer and he confirmed that is no longer part of the Lux pkg., but can be ordered as separate item. All previous orders expecting it will NOT have it as they deleted it during production. Mine will not have it - I pick it up today at 6pm.

I am so con fused by this conversation.

so as an example:
The CH PkG I received was $850, it came with Mirrors door handles and Crossbows. If all they did was split the package, ie door handles and mirrors $400 and Crossbows at $450, isn't that still $850? You just get more choices right.

Are you saying they charged you full price for the Lux Pkg and they did not "back out" the cost of the items that were missing?

I would have that place in a tizzy...ask them to do the math.

We tend to do this in our industry as well, but we only break up the packages and price the items individually. It all works out to be the same, and it gives the customer more options.

I picked up mine the Aug 11th from an order and my lux did have the homelink. I don't have a garage to use it yet. I thought I ordered crossbows (black) but they were missing so I had to add them separately. Some things are a little fishy.

You could always refuse to accept the vehicle... but if you think about it... if they told you the rear seat was on fire would you not take it home anyway. It is soooo coooool!!!

But seriously: In the US, can they just kick out an item, when the car was originally ordered to have it onboard? Wouldn't they have to pay some sort of compensation (at least!)?

In Germany it would be impossible just to "kick out" a product feature, once the car has been ordered including that feature. In Germany you could even step back entirely from your order, when a manufacturer/supplier decides to change the "product" without the change being agreed on by the customer.

Are you going back to the dealer?

Remind them that the JD Power surveys show up in your mailbox about thirty days later

I'll disagree with you richk. If you're saying the homelink (aka visor garage door opener) is a deal breaker for the lux package, then damn you're picky! If you are against leather, that's one thing, but to dismiss the lux because of the non-remote opener is a big mistake. The leather is awesome in the H3. Confucius say Lux package in H3 feels good on bum.

I agree.

If it was an option at time of order, meaning it was part of the Lux package, then I'd bitch and moan about it until they did something to remedy the situation. Same goes for the crossbows (which are now option only) if you got the chrome package before they yanked it.

I meant to say that it sucks they're taking it out, and if you ordered it that way before they pulled it, make your voice heard!

I may be wrong, but it sounds like GM Hummer is hitting rock bottom on the supplies. Demand greater than expected, Looks like Those later in the Months are going to get whatever they can build. Keep the sales rolling, we can't stop now...Cha Ching, Cha Ching.

I thought buying American was supporting American workers and the American economy. Getting a cool styling, higher than German quality and extreme capability and value is a bonus to me. Is it wrong that GM is fiddling with options after ordering? sure, and I'll be the first to let them know. It's not because their like us... American. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

if you're implying that an H3 is built to higher quality standards than, let's say a BMW, then you're delusional bro. i like my H3...i love it actually!!! that said, its quality/technology is very far behind my prior M3. my bimmer had no cheap plastic or friggin staples!!! staples? that is sad.

love your vehicle but be honest and see it for what it REALLY is (both good and bad).

Cost cutting measure. This is the same one on a lot of other models...
You can still get it and any order made before the change will get it.
