I found this cool brush guard. It is over the hood like the H1 have. I think it looks sweet.

Does anyone out there have a over the hood brush gard on there H2. If so how do you like it.
Go to products, and then into brush guards to find the picture.

Frank,
Realwheels has a black version. I prefer the chrome one my self, but the black is pretty sweet. I love how it comes up and over the hood. It mounts where the factory wraparound brush guard does and through the hood handles. It is very solid. I plan on ordering one soon.

I think it fastened to it's original bolt holes.Seems to rest on the hood grabs.
Esthetically, nice but it doesn't look like it's as "Jimmy" as yours. I do like it's lower profile though.

Hummerdogg-
I'm sure that if you could prove that it caused more damage because you have the brush guard, then they would take care of it some way.
Centerfire-
I think that they can do any kind of custom work that you want, including adding more light brackets or even paint it for you.

I contacted the mfg. this afternoon, they are going to send us a Dealer packet.. Checking in to setting up our store as a RealWheel Dealer..
Earlier in the year we started to adding Truck/SUV accessories to our Hunting Line.. We started outfitting trucks for Hunters. Now we are getting more inquiries for Custom stuff like the Billet product that RealWheels mfg. We just went direct with Gobi, looking to add 911EP products shortly..
Anyway.. I'm going to put the over the Hood SS unit on my H2.. Just can't decide to get the one with the light guards or not..

Detonate-
Alright, whats the chances that you can show these pics of the over the hood grill guard to your boys there at Tough Country and have them build it for us. I would be willing to take a look at it since it would save me the trouble of having to build one on my own.

I have been "conceptualizing" on a over the hood brushguard like the one shown. The problem I keep running into is "that any top impact and that thing will go straight into the hood and dent it" without some type of support.
You can get around this issue if you were to attach the brushguard to the hood handles however, the problem with this is that I don't know if that area would be able to withstand a high front/top impact or if the area would just cave in.
If this area wouldn't support this then you need to figure out a way to reinforce the hood handles and hood vent area that would then allow you to "lock" the top of the brushguard to the hood handles yet still support an impact without just caving in.
Thanks.

You could not be more correct with what you said above. I am not into product bashing and I debated on not even writing this for fear that it would look like that's what I was doing. But I felt it worthy of saying to my fellow H2 enthusiasts that if you are looking for something that is as heavy duty and rugged as this thing looks you don't want to get this one. Take a look at the way, and location that it is mounted. I have not put my hands on one of these but I have the SMA HD. which appears to be mounted better than the "over the hood" ones, and I would not trust my hood to that mounting set up. I manufacture very heavy duty equipment and have been toying with developing something similar to this, and even with the very sturdy design that my grill guard uses, I have the same concerns mentioned by HUMMERDOGG. Now I am a firm believer that if there is a will there is a way so I know that it can and will eventually be done correctly. But just at a glance I would be cautious of the way this over the hood guard is mounted and potential problems that may come with it.
Best of Luck

I think I may have to have one of them.. Can't decide between SS or getting the black one and have it painted or powder coated to match paint...
Just wish it had brackets for more then 2 lights.. Just ain't right if you can't put 4-6 lights on the brush guard.. I do love my lights.
If I have to turn on my front lights the guy in front of me must believe that Jesus is coming and to walk into the light.. Now that is enough lights
I just put on set of PIAA 520 on the gobi rack.. Man they sure do look whimpy.. Must find a more Manly looking light...

The bumper I have supports the factory BrushGuard. So technically you could mount that brushguard on the Heavy Duty Bumper.
If I didn't already own 2 brush guards I might consider getting that one myself!
I'm curious as to how that brushguard is held in place though.

Hummer H2-
I don't know where you live but here in Texas if I were to hit a deer in the middle of the hill country my concern would definitely be having the hood not get caved-in when that deer flops up on my "over the hood brush guard"? Will these guys warranty any damage done to your hood as a result of that brushguard collapsing in on it?

I plan on designing something here in the next several months barring a regional move I might have to make as a result of my current employment situation.
Thanks.

Yeah, the mounting was a real turn off for me.
I used to have the SMA one, it is just as bad ass as it looks. Very Sturdy.
The one I have now is very sturdy as well.
I may need to convince Tough Country that they need an optional over the hood brush guard, and that I should be their test rig.

I not for sure if it rolls with the hood or not, it almost looks like it would have to roll with the hood.
I am going to have to look into it more.
But I do like the way it comes over the hood.

Wow. Sweet is right. I would love to have a more ball-busting-looking brush guard. I quite like my wrap-around that was from the factory, but if I had to replace it I'd certainly be looking for one that had more mass and covered more area. VVVVVery nice. Not in chrome, by the way-- in my opinion-- but a kick-ass black one that made more of a statement than the factory black ones. Too bad the deer that I almost "got" last night didn't make it far enough to damage my factory wrap-around brush-guard------- I'd be ordering one of these today! Thanks for the post.

Now all we need now is someone to take this brushguard and Detonate's brushguard and fuse them together. His bumper(sans plastic) is alot more scookum.
That I would make the ultimate.
