Anyone try/own a Kahr P45 yet? Local shops don't have one in yet for me to try. Any opinions on this particular weapon welcome.

Don't believe salesmen! Did you buy your hummer based solely on the claims of the salesperson?

I've never been to an IDPA match so maybe you can answer me this. I know the equipment is supposed to be real, practical stuff like you actually carry. But do you think that those who are likely to compete IDPA are also more likely to "go a little further" when it comes to they're carry equipment than your average CCW individual and carry bigger stuff? Also, if you're shooting IDPA, aren't you going to want a 4" barrel or more to enhance accuracy?

I'm really looking for something so conveniently small and light, I'm not going to no bring it along because it's too heavy or big.

I still need to get my hands on one. I've bought handguns before sight-unseen and not had the best luck with hand fit. I'm wary about this one being too small...I feel comfortable somewhere between a 1911 single stack and any double stack.

Operator 23 going on 24,
For future reference, you might want to consider these generic shooting fora:

<LI> The High Road[/list]

Ree,

I just got my American Rifleman NRA magazine in the mail (Jan 2006 issue). One article of note:

In A Class By Itself: Kahr’s Mini .45 — Wiley Clapp (page 40)

Ever since the first compact Kahr pistols were introduced in 9 mm, we’ve been asking for one chambered in .45 ACP. It’s finally arrived and, yes, it was definitely worth the wait.

Yeah, thanks. I got mine a couple weeks ago and saw this positive review. That plus my desire to add a potent, tiny gun to my collection instigated the research.

Paragon,
Great find. Lots of good info more in depth from the reading in all the rags. I'm thinking the long trigger pull is going to ruin the deal. I just have the damndest time squeezing cleanly if I have to move the trigger finger through too long an arc. After buying other guns sight-unseen, don't worry, I'm not going to buy without trying.

Again, not an expert, never competed. I was thiking only of CDP though. Sorry for the confusion.

Good Luck PhilD with the comps, I see only x-ring shots in 06!

I was talking about getting one to play with a couple of months ago but ended up getting a P2000sk as a new carry.
