Husky mud flap installation?
For those with front mud flaps...
I'm not crazy about drilling into the painted fender.
Are all front Husky flaps installed this way?
Has anyone done it differently?
When I want to drive with them off, there will be 2 ugly open holes in the painted fender surface, whereas the hole in the black part of the fender well can be easily capped.

I just installed the OEM mud flaps about three weeks ago. The procedure for putting those flaps on are the same. If you want the flap to stay on I would go ahead and drill the holes and put in the screws. If you do anything different they might fall off if you get some mud on them.

Got Huskys on mine. Used the stock kit and left mine on. No problems. You could get smaller self tapping screws and drill 1/16 rather than 1/8" holes. Or when you take off either putty or seal with silicone till ready to reapply. They are durable flaps and will flex sumwhat. I have thwacked mine pretty hard in the woods and they stayed well! good luck.Quote:

Eureka! I do have some Army green duct tape that will match the body color.

I have the Huskies as well. No problems as far as I can tell but I haven't been through a winter yet (I am nervous about that as well and if doing yourself, you will need an angle drill adapter if you aren;t pulling the wheels). The tape is a good idea but after damp for awhile, it may depart. I'd go for the trim screws idea.
