Warranty almost gone
I'm getting very close to being without a warranty due to mileage. Should I shop for an extended warranty or just let it go? No real problems with the truck yet. I had a 100k mile warr. on my last truck and used it alot. Everything covered, no deductable. Kinda nice

Re: Warranty almost gone
If you buy and extended now before the current runs out you usally do not need an inspection. Do not buy a GMPP one unless you travel all over the country alot. The dealer probally sell an aftermarket one for much less but get a quote on both GMPP and Aftermarket warrenty. It will pay for it's self after one electronics or drive train problem. Let me know how much they want to charge you

I would stay with GMPP since other companys that offer these have and do go out of business, then you have nothing. Just my 2 cents on choice.
Since any dealer can sell GMPP, I would recommend you e mail Ken Fichtner at kenfichtner@fichtnerchevrolet.com and copy gmpp@fichtnerchevrolet.com . The second address goes to the same place but I am not sure which email address I used before. Tell them what kind of GM car you have along with the mileage. Tell them what you want in a GMPP extended warranty, such as 7 years/100K miles and what deductible you want. They will quote you a price. They can quote various plans if you ask. They were much cheaper than local dealers and they advertise they can beat anyone. I bought one for another GM vehicle from them a couple of years ago.

Re: Warranty almost gone
My opinion. I off-road very frequently. I live in New York and am currently in Reno. I drove out to go to Moab. Discovered an oil leak. Drove back to Albuquerque to the dealer. Immediately received a Hertz rental at no charge. Kept it overnight, in the morning found it was a loose oil filter. Extended GMPP warranty = No Charge.
I told you I am currently in Reno. Drove the Rubicon with the group. We drove to the dealer after I felt what seemed like all wheels locked. When he mentioned my Fabtechs, I was getting ready for a hosing. I needed Pittman and idler arms, ball joints and tie rods, rear sway bar hanger. Oh, and a transfer case. Extended GMPP Warranty = No Charge.
I negotiated with my dealer from a $3400 cost to $1900. Go here http://www.elcovaforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13857&highlight=extended+warranty and get very competitive pricing. Use this to negotiate with your dealer. Saving a few hundred by going to anyone but GMPP, is being penny wise and pound foolish. I had a 24-48 hour delay until the adjuster came out. How long would you have to wait when the non-GMPP stops doing business.
If you don't use your truck the way I do, don't spend the money.
Just my thoughts.

Re: Warranty almost gone
I think AAA used to offer extended warranties.I like to use AAA services whenever possible...they really backup what the sell.
