Tire Inflator/Power Source
I read previous threads about on-board compressors, etc. I received a Husky (Home Depot's brand) Jumpstarter System for Christmas and I think some of you may want to take a look at this. Here's a pic and features:
Instant vehicle startup complete with air compressor and 400 watt power inverter. Unit includes digital readout, built-in 110 volt charger, LED area light and a DC to DC charger.
? 450 amp jumpstarter.
? 400 watt inverter.
? 260 PSI air compressor w/ attachments.
? 12 volt power outlet.
? 3 LED area worklight.
The unit sells for only $89.99. It's rugged, compact (16wx9hx8d), versatile, and can bail you out of many jams as well as providing convenience. Jeez, I sound like a salesman. Anyway, this thing seems pretty cool so far and I thought I'd share it with you.

Re: Tire Inflator/Power Source
For the 400W power inverter, does it come with direct battery clamps?

Re: Tire Inflator/Power Source
I have had one of those for a couple of years. It has held up well. I carry it with me when hauling boats. Yes the jumper clamps also power it. It comes with a double dildo dc cord that can be used when running the compressor to speed things up. I run a 1/2 impact wrench off mine to set up the trailer and put the spares on to roll it in the water. So I have used it a lot. Now it lives in my Hummer plugged into the outlet in the cargo area. To charge it on AC you just hook up a regular extension cord because it has a built in charger. Don't leave home without it! ha ha It holds a charge real good. Its also great to charge cell phones and run tv's and booom box or even my laptop likes it.

Re: Tire Inflator/Power Source
I did a quick check. Charged, the digital read out on mine is 13.2 volts. While pumping it drops quickly to 12.3. That is with the temp at about 52 degrees. On battery alone it took a tire from 22 psi to 36 in about 7 minutes. It took three minutes or more to air it down with Staun bleeders! You would get one tire and performance would drop.
The best way is to plug it in. I made a DC extension cord from the double ender so I can reach the rears from the cargo plug and the fronts from the access plug on dash. I have not timed a full inflate that way but its quicker. I also noticed with the vehicle idling you get 13.8 out and that also helps. I use it over at the Superlift park when the line at the air hose is long. I get lots of onlookers and questions. Wonder if I could get a commision?
