Its simple. Ease of dispensing. When the toilet paper is under (as it should be) and you pull down on it, it dispenses with greater ease. I have also noticed that the dispensing action is much smoother when it is installed under. And really, this is note a joke post. I am not kidding. Under. Period. A toilet is a mans thrown, remember guys; your experience should be as luxurious as possible.

We are to lazy to put a new roll on. We just set it on the corner of the sink or the back of the toilet. So I doesn't matter.

I dont care but if I put it on backwards, the wife will fix it and bitch at me about it. I'm just glad to have it there when I need it.
