What lift to get?
Well we want to lift the H2 already and was wondering what lift does everyone run? We want a 6 inch lift and leaning toward Fabtech or maybe the new CST lift. Also any recomendations on tires, size and width. Want to make the H2 stand out in a croud. Thanks in advance.

Re: What lift to get?
i would go with the fabtech lift.. alote of people seem to have them, without any problems... and probably a 38 " x 13.50 tire or something close to that.. and you probably wanta get the steering stabilizer also. good luck

I don't really agree with that. Everyone I know with a Fabtech lift has all sorts of what I would call "problems", primarily in the front end - tie rods, steering components, etc. I don't think it's Fabtech specific, just that lifts in general create a ton of unnatural/unintended wear on components which means a lot of down time and a lot of $$ ongoing.

I agree, IFS in general wears out faster with bigger tires and a lift. I also think that 15.5 inch wide tires look great but have way too much grip. It also depends on if your going to off road your Hummer after you lift it.
BTW, Cognito sells a 7" lift. I know guys that run them on the GM full size pickups with larger size tires without any trouble.
NCBound, go to the tech section and search on lifts. That's a good place to start.

Re: What lift to get?
I guess it reall depends on your attentions with the lift.
Standing out in a croud purpose? What does that mean?
Off roading? Daily driver? Highway driving long distances?
If you plan to do a bit of hwy driving, you may want to stay with a smaller tire and not a really wide tire.
I have the Rnacho 4" lift on mine. It sits closer to 6" than it does the 4" though. I have 37 13.50's on it. When parked next to a factech with 38's it looks a little smaller, but park it next to a stock one and it "stands out/up a little."
AS for daily driving the lift feels close to stock, but it does sit up higher, so highway driving isn;t the best on those hwy MTN roads... or when it get's windy out.
The sider tire you go with, the more it will grab off road and the grooved roads as well. That's the advice 4WP denver gave me when selecting this lift/ tires.
See if you can find a local member from this board or anther one that can take you for a rid in their lifted rig before you drop the money. Some lifts cannot be put back to stock without some metal fab work and some welding. Rancho is one of those.
Good luck.

Re: What lift to get?
We've got the Fabtech with 38x15.5's, but I'd probably go with 13.5's if I did it again. The 15.5 is alot of weight swinging around out there.
