Head Work (Safe for work)
OK, I have the H3 in the garage, they will be done Friday, they hooked me up with a Impala (was better than the cobalt they offered first). The service department called and asked what they needed to do to make my satisifed with my purchase, I said I would think extending the warranty to 100,000 miles and they said "should be no problem, anything else?" I said I would call back tomorrow. What else can be expected? I was pretty damn pleased with the warranty extension, any thing else anyone can think of that woudl be fair?
Great KUDOS to Wright for taking care of me and my H3, they have restored some faith in their service department, back to rave reviews

Re: Head Work (Safe for work)
I just had my head replaced last week..
Hey 2 heads are better than one!
Yesterday I got a call back from Hummer and they will send me a "component letter" (engine only) to extend the warranty to cover the whole engine for 7 years or 100K. (Whatever comes first).
They said I should recieve the letter in 2-4 weeks
I had opened a file with them before having the work done.

Anybody aware of somebody getting the "component letter"/extended warranty on an H3 not yet experiencing the head problem?

Re: Head Work (Safe for work)
I would like to know as well - especially if this is a common problem.

Re: Head Work (Safe for work)
Scouts,
Can you tell me what "symptoms" you had on your H3 that led to the head being replaced?
When was your build date?
I bought mine from Wright as well in July 2006 (build date was April 2006), but haven't noticed anything unusual yet. I am wondering whether I should just take it in for them to check it out.

Re: Head Work (Safe for work)
I was driving my 3 and stopped at a stop sign and it stalled, would not re-fire. I coasted to the side of the road, shut it down and it started right up. About two weeks later my service engine light came on and off a few times over a few days. I called Wright adn ogt a date to get teh light checked out. The very next day I was driving it it shut off on my at high way speed, coasted to teh side, shut it down, fired it up and go about another 20 miles it did it again. Got home with no further incidents, next morning it would not fire up. Called Hummer roadside and they came and flatbed-ed it to Wright's.

The first time I had mine replaced I didn't notice anything wrong with the way it was running. the light had come on and I didn't know what was wrong with it. Onstar didn't find any codes so I took it to the dealer. They said something about bad compression in cylinder 3 (or something to that effect).
The second time- was running rough, sounded like it wanted to stall out.
Just got it back not too long ago and it's running fine now.....however I have another issue LOL. Had the instrument cluster replaced last week and now none of my interior lights work. Not a clue what they did to it this time.......I guess it's back to the service dept. I go!
