I can understand the need for food and the different cultures around the world have different tastes...
BUT
to not kill them fast and in a humane way shows you the savageness of the japanese people. They even commit suicide in a slow manner. I'm not aware of any other major culture where there is so little understanding of suffering. The Kosher Laws of the Jewish People going back for thousands of years demand that a food animal not suffer. Hunters in North America always go for a fast kill, and in most if not all other areas of the world the same applies.

That is uncomfortable to watch.
It's cuz they're so cute right? Had they been Tuna, I'd be looking forward to some grilled tuna steak. Funny how one is distasteful and another is not.
