Re: Changing to 2wd
I don't think there is any way of adding the ability to change between 2wd and 4wd on the H2 without changing the entire transfer case. However, I did run my h2 for three or four days without the front drive shaft connected. It was just after I installed the 4l80e conversion and my front drive shaft was being cut for proper fit. Anyway, I HATED the way my truck felt without 4wd. Even though the engine ran fine and the tranny shifted properly it still felt very sluggish. Also, FYI it was no faster in 2wd than 4wd.

Re: Changing to 2wd
Yes, there is a way.
Buy a Tahoe!!
If you do the Durmax/ Allison conversion, you can do this. You get 2wd to 4wd.
In other words you need a new transmission, t case, and bunch of other BS...just to switch out fo 2WD. Seems like a waste to me.
Why would you want to switch out?

Re: Changing to 2wd
Yeah dump idea to switch out, i cant stand driving 2wd trucks since im so use to driving in 4wd all the time. Dont have to worry about fishtailing or tire spinning.
