Default Parking Break light is staying on????

Usually it means its time for new breaks? Right? I added more break fluid to the resevior but that did not put it out. the truck has been sitting allot and that dash light is causing a drain on the battery? Anyone have any suggestions? I do know the pads are ending their usable life but... They still have probubly 5-10K miles on them and I dont want to change them untill spring unless I absolutly have to.

well i cant see what pics were posted due to a firewall at work.. but

ive got a 90 k5 blazer, i know its not a hummer but its still gm and id be willing to bet have the same issues. anyway u might want to get it looked at. mine was doing that then it started blinking. 2 days later i lost my brakes. im being told it has to do with one of a few things
1. your fluid level is low. but u said its not
2. your anti lock system is having issues. the light will come on if the system is sensing a difference in pressure between the front and rear brakes. i was told to look for leaks in the calipers and wheel cyl.s mine was good there.
3. the last was the anitlock system was taking a crap.

might be some things to look into. i know its not from an h2 but i spent hours looking for this info. u would think it would be in the manual or a repair man. but i couldnt find any info on it good luck

Thanks for the heads up. After I topped off the fluid last night and a couple ignition cycles today the light went out.

well hopefully that fixed it. its a bad feeling to hit the brakes and the pedal goes to the floor with no resistance

If you were a real friend, you would have ripped that sheet out of the book and ship it to him.

Well the light is back on. So now I will be going through the motions on the manual and let you guys know my findings. Im really guessing I have a slow leak or the pads are done. I have 98K miles now on the original front pads. I will also adjust the parking break to see if that might help.

Ed can you post up the pix on how to adjust the parking break?

Thanks,
Eric
