Default I had the Tru-Cool Tranny cooler installed....

Had it installed the last week w/ the bypass and am happy but have a few questions for others that have put on an oversized cooler....I was curious if it's supposed to run a whole lot cooler under NO load compared to the normal OEM cooler?? It never gets over 175 but neither did my OEM, but I thought I'd read where some of you southerners that are in scorching temps said yours never was over the 150 degree mark....just curious, please respond with what kind of temps yours runs w/o pulling anything w/ an aftermarket tranny cooler....I guess I'm just happy with the piece of mind that I wont have the pepto bismol effect to worry about...lol...thanks for replys!

Which one did you get? I am looking to do this also and wasn't sure which part number to get.
Thanks

I'm in south Florida and have yet to hit the 150 deg. mark without pulling a trailer in 95 degree heat. As for the part number I'll have to look it up but I think it was the largest cooler that they made, something like 40,000 btu.

Just looked it up it's Tru-Cool part #4739 with the cold weather pypass and #4739-1 without the cold weather bypass. If you don't have alot of cold weather you don't need the thermal bypass. Both are 40,000 GVW and 45,000 btu. Just be sure to bypass the radiator when you install.

Here's a couple pics I snapped w/ my phone (sorry about quality, but you'll get the impression of what/where it goes)....After looking at a couple other sites this looks like about the most common spot for installation....and yes, it is the exact same part number H2illbilly posted above...mine was the tru cool 4739....
