Default Lift Height Measurements

I also own a sports car, and on one of our forums, they had a thread where people posted the actual drop of their car, measured from the center of the hub to fender. So it got me thinking, why don't we do the same here to measure our lifts? There are a lot of people putting lifts on lately, and it might be a good resource for everyone to have in one post.

So, when you get a chance, please measure the distance from the center of your hub to the bottom of your fender, front and rear. Even if you've only put on a leveling kit, measure front and rear. DO NOT measure from the ground. And just as importantly, post your lift kit and tire/wheel size.

Sadly, I'm at work thinking of this, so I can't post what I have just yet. I will when I get home.

P.S. If this has already been done, my apologies, but I'm assuming we could use an updated one.

Guess I need to kick this off since I started it.

Fabtech lift with Cognito everything including UCA's
1" spacer in rear coil
Upgraded torsion keys (can't remember manufacturer)
38" Toyo's on 20" KMC's

Front sits at 32"
Back sits at 30.75"

I have a question for you....so you have the fabtech 6" lift and you added a 1" spacer in the rear and after market keys to the front to lift it up more. Any issues at all with driveline angles, vibration, etc, etc.?

I have the fabtech with 38's, and would like to get a bit more out of it, if It wont affect anything else.

let me know, thanks

I've had it this way for about 3 years without any issues. Honestly though, it almost a little too tall for 38's. I only did it to ensure that I wouldn't have any rubbing issues when I went from 37's to 38's. I changed wheels at the same time to a better offset, so I'm not sure which helped with rubbing the most, but I've never had any rubbing since I went taller.

yeah, im thinking about 40's sometime in the near future, the extra lift would set it off nicely. I have zero rubbing with my 38x15.5x18's as it sits now.

I actually still have room to adjust the front higher. When I got it back from the shop, they had it sitting a little nose-high. I brought it back down, but there is room to go back up some.

The shop I dealt with is VERY well respected here in Orlando, and they actually advised against 40's. Said it was too much for the IFS. But if you upgrade your steering components, I'm thinking it should be fine. Problem is, it's hard to gear your truck correctly. I have 38's with 4.88 gears, and my speedo is almost perfect. More importantly, though, is that my powerband is still good. And keep in mind that most programmers don't go up to a 40" tire size.

That's enough for me...I worry too much about my center of gravity.

I wanted to revive this thread as there seems to be a lot of people, myself included, that are considering more lift or bigger tires. So anyone with a tape measure, please contribute.

Its kinda difficult to measure from the center of the hub to the fender when you have wheel offsets that come out a few inches. I just added the cognito UCA and steering parts today and cranked upt he torsion bars, so my front is nice and even now. I think IM about to get the 1.5" spring spacer and green keys to take it up a bit more. With the cognito UCA's the ball joint angle looks like it will be fine, and the front axles look like they will be good to go as well. I will measure it up after I get these things on it in a few days or so.
