How to remove ceiling panels

I have an orange H2 (2003). There is a hum coming from the doohicky above my head which I believe is a speaker for the OnStar. (The specs say it is a fan).

When I took the cover off, the doohicky shifted out of view.

If I have to remove the ceiling panel to get at the doohicky, how do I do this? Must I make a cut in the panel?

Is there a fuse I can remove to get this doohicky to shut up?

I have the same issue.
The doohicky you're referring to is a sensor for the air conditioning I believe. apparently it's common for them to make this noise when they are worn out. You need to replace the sensor thing but I'll be damned if I know where to find one or how to take off the headlining.

If you remove the a-pillar trim panel(down the front left side of windshield inside) you can just pull headliner down enough to get hand in there(its tight) then you can reach it. smiley you are correct it is the inside air temp sensor. Other term for it is aspirator. If you remove it your auto temp controls will not work. Not a very expensive part from dealer and yes it does have a fan in it, that's what is causing the noise.

Is there a fuse which will stop the fan?

No, works through hvac control module. Only thing you could do is unplug it at sensor.

So far, I see no way to remove the paneling. It has a speaker and a hand hold.

Another problem: my TC and ABS warning lights come on for no apparent reason. (I think the battery is low).
