I was just curious about who is buying the H3 and why.
Myself
Sex: Male
Age: 36
Marital Status: Pretty much married
Occupation: GM for a small computer board manufacturer
Reason for getting H3: Fell in love with the H2 but it is out of my budget right now. The H3 is the closest thing I could get. Wanted something different than everything else on the road. Also would like to start wheeling with it.

Occupation: Program Manager for IT Company
Reason for Wanting the H3: Love the Hummer brand and much like most of the H3 buyers, the H2 is out of my price range. I first heard of the H3 about 4 years ago when I met a girl who was an engineer helping to design the door of the H3. I knew right then and there this was the ride for me. Reasonably priced Hummer. All over it! Can't wait to get mine. Still a couple months out.

By GM training material the avarage H3 owner will be the following...
average
age 40
income 100k dual 75k single
male 60%
married 70%
college grad 55%
children 64%
cars in fleet 2
Buyer is active and adventurous
confident but not brash
driven by long term goals, believers in working hard and playing hard.
most have not considered H2 because of size, effciency or price
looks like you guys fit one way or another?

Reason for getting H3: Loved the H1 and H2 but too pricy for me (plus MPG was brutal). Knew H3 was coming so I patiently waited and now I drive the coolest SUV in the world! All of you H3 owners rock!!!

I have always liked the H2 but the price, size gas milleage always swayed me from it. I also, thought they had luxery tax to buyers on them. I want(ed) a new Toyota 2007 FJ Cruiser but couldn't wait any longer.

Occupation: 3D Animator/Modeller
Reason: Size, MPG and styling, a used H2 would probably fall in a similar price range, but I just love the design of the H3.

Occupation: Business Development for large Software/Hardware Manufacturer
Reason for getting H3: To haul me, the family, the dog, and whatever I get at Home Depot on any given day and to maybe, sometime, go offroad. Also, it is way cooler than a Tahoe, 4Runner, or any other SUV in this category.

Myself
Sex: Male
Age: 45
Marital Status: Single
Occupation: EH&S Manager
Reason for getting H3: I want a 4 door SUV that can really go off road from the factory. I hope to keep my Jeep Rubicon but need more space for longer expedition type trips, dogs and passengers and gear. If not for the Adventure Package with low gears, rear locker, 33" tires and largish gas tank and good price I would probably not consider the H3.
And it is nice to Buy American Iron!!

Reason for Purchasing: I have always admired the HUMMER product. I just happened to be surfing the internet look for a replacement for my 1995 Toyota Land Cruiser, which I think is the best purchase I have ever made. Saw the H3 in an article and immediately knew it was the car for me.
Husband and kids were against it at first....now they love it just like me.

Soon to order H3. Deciding on color and options. Age 45. Airline pilot. Bachelors Degree. Single never married. But I like girls Currently drive Ford explorer and 500 SL Mercedes and 03 Harley Road King Classic. Also have 40 ft Trawler and Ski Nautique. Like many others I fell in love with the h2 but seemed a little to big for everyday use. H3 should be a fun addition to the toybox.

Thanks. There are other factors like possibly buying a new house that helps me be patient with it. I want to go ahead and get the house before it comes in so if it takes a little longer, it is worth it to me. Then, watch out for all the pics

Yeh, I can finally post!
Sex: Female
Age: Young 57
Marital Status: Married 30 years this month (cool anniverary present)
Occupation: Retired/part time rancher
Reason for getting an H3: My husband has been driving me crazy for years that I need a new vehicle. I've been telling him, that when I see something I wanted, I would let him know. I found something I wanted! He just about had a heart attack after my test drive and I told him - YES I want one!

Sex: Male
Age: 57
Marital Status: Divorced (and lovin' it)
Occupation: Current, Engineer; Previous, Federal Law Enforcement
Reason for getting H3: Want something to replace my Jeep since my Butt can't take anymore cross-country trips, and my forearms have not recovered from the cross-winds on I-70 through Kansas earlier this month, so the Jeep has to go. Also, just moved to MI and the roads here are terrible (that is a mild under-statement), and my Jeep bounces all over the place, and my Corvette is being slowly torn apart; bushing and tire, by bushing and tire. Therefore, the answer is to sell both and purchase a Luxury H3 with off-road suspension. This will not happen until a final Corvette road trip back to TN, over labor day
Thought about an H2, but it won't go places that I normally go (see photo), but the H3 will just fit. Horse Canyon Trail, Canyonlands (Needles Area) National Park
