I am looking for opinions. I just interviewed in Dallas for a job that would allow me to locate in either Pheonix or Dallas and commute to the other. If I took this job I would be moving out of So Cal (100 feet from the beach) so either place is too far from the ocean, but the job looks like fun.
Bottom line, which is abetter place to live,Dallas or Pheonix?

I'm in the Real Estate business here in Phoenix. Yes, home prices are soaring, depending on where here in the Valley you will want to reside, plan on spending upwards of $250,000 for a 3 bedroom 2 bath 2-3 car garage home in a nice area. If I can be of assistance, drop me a line.

If you grew up around Lake Michigan than the weather is definatley tollerable. I love the summers, the much longer summers than up north. And the winters are great. In the summer, ever time the temp goes above 85, the humidity plummets. It actually sometimes feels worse at 84 degress than 98 degrees.
As far as the packer fan thing goes, what's wrong with you? If you are a true Packer fan than you know who Charles Martin is. I hate that guy. The Bears would have continued to be good in the 80's if it wasn't for his cheap shot. And as far as the cowboys go regarding the Packers, you could always wear your Farve jersy into a sports bar during the Cowboys bad years and laugh at the Cowboy fans. I have seen a few people doing that the last few years. Ya bastards.

Phoenix is also a 3 hour drive to Page, Arizona and Lake Powell. Much hotter but drier than Dallas. Current wildfires are scorching just north of there between Phoenix and the South Rim Grand Canyon.
Dallas can't hold a candle to all the southern Utah wonderlands you can get to in a day's drive or a long weekend, and of course you pick'm casino locales in Nevada.

The housing market is crazy most any place but as always it will be worse in some areas than others. I have read report about the national real estate market and they say if you see a house for sale in Orlando, just buy it. The bubble is going to burst before long and hopefully there won't be a lot of people who are very upside down in their houses

From what I have seen housing is pretty good in most parts of Dallas though some areas are very high for what you get. It is that way every where though. I know my friend there just bought his house for right at $200K and I couldn't believe it. You would have to spend at least $400K here to get the same house

Hey, If you don't choose Garland, I'd love to interview for the job, been looking for some time now and really would like to stay here, vs. moving to Phoenix.
Send me a Private Msg. Re. the job if you don't mind.
Ok, I now change my vote to Phoenix.

Having never dealt personally with any of the Texas dealers, I can't vouch personally for how they act or how they treat their customers. Note that I never said that they aren't good or great - I have no knowledge of it.
So - take offense all you want. I'm not going to give an opinion for something I don't have personal knowledge of.

AS far as Garland goes, that is good since you won't have to screw with the Dallas traffic, just get a nice house in Plano, McKinney or Frisco, you'd have a short commute, cheap price of house that will skyrocket in the next few years, and you're set. Welcome to Texas. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>
