Replace driver's side mirror: $750
Replace H2 tailgate emblem: $30
Replace spare tire cover: $100
Ding removal, touch-up paint, buffing: $100

I left my truck out on the driveway Tuesday night. They smashed the mirror in, which put two small dings in the door's window frame. They gouged the paint on the tailgate while removing the H2 emblem. Lastly, they burned a hole in my tire cover with what I guess was a cigarette lighter.

I've put the word out with a couple of upstanding teenagers in the neighborhood hoping to find out who did it. I doubt I'll ever find them, but if I do, I will beat the ever-living $hit out of their lowlife, pondscum, piece of dog$hit, a$$-sucking, disrespectful, good for nothing worthless a$$es. And then I'm going to take the same a$$-whooping to their no-account dads.

Damn, that sucks man . Bunch of losers shot eggs at my old house a few years back; I had to spend an hour hosing it down all the way to the top of the 2 1/2 storey (stucco walls will rot otherwise), at midnight in the freezing winter (well, SoCal "freezing".. ) weather.

Someone broke into my H2 couple months ago. Even though the guy was caught mins later because i happened to be awake that night. I figure i might not be the next time so i have installed an aftermarket alarm on the truck and this surveillance system since then:

http://www.samsclub.com/eclub/main_shopping.jsp?BV_UseB...-24294:-34205:921260

My driveway gets very dark at night and the included infrared cameras were not bright enough. So I bought some additional infrared illuminators on ebay dirt cheap, works good.

Insurance won't cover you when you do that do they? That would really suck. I believe that I heard recently that you can get ticketed if you do that down here.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. Socrates, it's not like I live in a bad neighborhood, in fact, it's quite nice, but we do have some kids migrating a few miles in from a not-so-desirable "hood" that have done other damage. I suspect, though, that the H2 was even more attractive.

Tim, I did offer a reward, $500, to the kids I talked to. I hope it works.

Jerry, thanks for the offer. Are you good at editing out the incrminating stuff? LOL!

Stomper, I'm going to be doing a few midnight surveillance runs over the next few nights. They may not be back around my house, but maybe I can catch 'em somewhere else.

Thanks again everyone. The ding guy that does all my work did a great job yesterday, and with a new mirror installed and a new tire cover on the way (from Jason), I'm feeling a little better about it all.

-Pete

I'd offer those teens a reward to make it worth their while to go out of their way to find out who did it! And than once you find out, than have fun! Sorry man.

You forgot one thing. After you get done beating the crap out of the dad, you need to staple the bill to his forehead with an air compressed staple gun. Sorry to hear about the incident.

OMG!

Pete that is $hitty news man. I am sorry to hear about that. I don't blame you for wanting to beat down these punk asses, and their "g"hey ass mofo fathers! I hope you do find these jerks.

Hey, go for the 06 mirrors! The work better for those texas ice storms.

Honestly, sorry to hear that man. Time to sit out with the camo and duck hunting equipment - if you know what I mean!

Pete,

I'm assuming the incident was due to it being a H2, or have other incidents like this happened in your neighborhood and surrounding area? Regardless, how pathetically sad for these types of people. For everyone's sake, I hope they are brought to justice....

Man, that sucks. I'm sorry to hear that. I know no one likes to have their vehicle vandalized but that really rubs me the wrong way. I go out of my way not to ding, destroy or ruin someone else's vehicle, why can't they have the same respect for my ****?

Always some dumbass muthaf_cker.

Hope your Xmas goes better after that..

Mark
