The Passport lines have rated the best for several years. I have an escort passport 8500 hardwired into my XL Denali but put an old Bel in the H2.
I have been wanting to get the passport sr7 put into the H2 but it's just always been on the back burner.
By the way, detectors are not just for evading tickets. They provide alerts to all sorts of things such as emergency vehicles and clandestine road blocks.

I think that the Valentine One is the best that I have seen on the market and the only other radar detector that got higher marks was the K40 which is installed in the Ferrari and Porsche.. So I think that I will go with the V1 as all the people I know that have them have never gotten a ticket...

How did you do that???
I'm having my Valentine hard wired in my Z06 today, but I'll be able to take it out to use in the H2 for trips.
Also, where can I find out more about the lidatek?

The radartest site was created by an "independent consultant" that was refused employment by Valentine One.
Draw your own conclusions.
I have tested all the big names and the only detector that I run is the Valentine One.

The mount is a Metra RoadWorks Radar Detector Windshield Mount model AW-PL00.
It is in a hanging blister package along with the car audio installation kits. Look for a yellow and black package with red stripes.
I just bought another one this weekend to mount a Garmin GPS unit.

Hey Klaus,
Do you have a picture of this bracket? I been to our AutoZone stores and they have nothing. How about a brand name or other info - Thanks

they sell the mirrors for the M5 on www.beastpower.com for $895. I just used it for the M3 as well. It looks pretty cool, and basically makes your radar detector invisible. The V1 is hardwired into the cars. It also displays the info for the lidatek as well. Lidatek is at www.lidatek.com Hope this helps. They may make mirrors for other cars as well, but I have no idea where they would sell them.

I bought an adjustable windshield bracket at AutoZone. Look in the car stereo section. I think it was about $10. My V1 sits on top of the bracket. Works well.

I love it, but I think it makes me too overconfident about speeding. One of the reasons I got my H2 was to slow down, and it has worked for me so far. But my setup has saved my ass quite a few times. I will swear by both the V1 and the lidatek, especially since laser is now so prevalent. even the best radar/laser detector (V1 imho) doesn't help much with laser because laser is truly instant on and is aimed directly at your front plate. I bought my lidatek via a group buy on the bmwm5.com forum. Lidatek loves group buys and wouold work with us if we wanted to do one here. aYou definately need to buy two for a vehicle as large as the H2, but they sure do work.
