looks great! would you describe the sound as closer to a v8 rumble like a trans am, or more of a tinny sound like a honda accord with a pipe? I have never modified exhaust on anything but v8's and I am really curious to know how it sounds.
It definatly does not sound like a Honda. On the other hand, a V8 would be a stretch. Someone else did this b4 me and had a sound clip. Just sounds nice. Check Flowmaster website maybe.

Ok, went back to stock today, the noise just began to annoy me. Only one chrome "tip" now but nice and quiet. Does this mean I'm getting old???

Too loud?? Im running a 40 series with two turn downs and I LOVE it!! Im thinking about running an electronic turn out before the muffler to make it even louder. Straight pipes!! Oh well Im young and stupid. I'll enjoy it while it lasts.

Hmrlvr,

Yea I can understand that you don't want excessive noise, I'm old enough to appreciate that too. I selected a Corsa system because it was known to be the quietest dual tip setup. The only time it gets a little loud is climbing long grades at certain rpms. But with a price around $900 it's not cheap.

I had a FlowMaster installed on my H3 as well. I took it to a muffler local shop and they did it for $120.00. The FlowMaster replaced the stock monster muffler and was attached in the same location. The single short tailpipe was cut at an angle to fit under the bumper. Looks good. The resister was left in place. I was adviced the sound would be somewhat louder if it was removed. I might get brave and replace it with a streight pipe and see what I get sometime. I'll save the resiste,r just in case it gets to be to much for me, or the wife complains. So far I'll just keep the radio on. LOL

I did notice better pick up and a little increase in sound. More like mad hornets, but not to loud to bother anyone. So far my wife has not complained.

Yes, mine was taken out out and it's too loud, at least for me (and my wife)

I guess we can conclude that most of the H3 exhaust experiments have not gone well.

OMG no. It just means you're whipped.

The all time best exhaust ownage was H2Finally when he joined. His first question was how to make the truck quieter so his wife would ride in it. He took crap from us for weeks!!!!

Too bad that thread didn't make the switch over.
