I have the K&N FIPK (FPIK???); anyway, I was wondering what mpg someone with a airraid filter replacement is getting. It appears that GM has done some research or something with their stock airbox and air intake tube - they must have, the tube has like 3 different sections (maybe for cooling the air?).
With my K&N FPIK, I get about 10.5 to 11mpg in the city (Juneau, AK - no higyway miles)... If the mpg is any better with stock or airraid filters I may change it out.
Thanks,
David

I get 12 around town with my K&N FIPK, while I get 20+ mpg when using my AFE CAI. The K&N is on my H2, while AFE is on my M3 Convertible which may be a contributing factor to the diffrence in mpg between the 2 intakes.

David,
You can not get a valid comparison between 2 different vehicles and 2 different drivers using their vehicles on different roads. While I undrstand your curiosity, any replies you get will be experimentally unsound and statistically invalid.

Hi,
Yes, that's true... Any suggestion on how to get the most recent 'upgrade' in codes or whatever it's called? I've heard that some people have taken their H2's in and gotten some sort of upgraded codes plugged in.
I guess an actual GM code or upgrade number would be needed otherwise the service center would tell me there is nothing.
Thanks,
David

Not necessarily true. If you have a good working relationship with your service people, you can simply ask them to download all the updates needed to make you current. It's not a big deal for them in terms of work. Cerritos Hummer (So Cal) does it for me at every oil change.

If your getting 10.5 - 11 mpg around the city thats not bad at all. I usually average around 9.
I have a K&N Intake as well, been very happy with it so far.
