What would you buy if you had a choice between the H2 or a Corvette, what would you buy and why?

I would definitely go with the H2. Used to drive sports cars, including a Vette for a short time. Since going to a SUVs a while back, I have absolutely no desire to go back to a car let alone a sports car. The H2 will be far more useful for everday life. Now, that's just me.

I am sorry but that is a no brainer. The vette just doesn't have the ground clearance and will probably get hung up easily on the rocks. Also, it needs at least a solid rear axle to be a serious off-roader and the vette's 4wd system leaves a lot to be desired.
Just Kidding by the way. Notice the

If you got T-boned by a VW (bunch of hippies who were late to their latest protest) running a red light, which would you rather be in?
I have heard many testimonials from owners who's words were "if I was in any other vehicle, I may not have survived!" I know my wife, kids or passengers are worth it!

I had the choice of new toys and went H2. Hot roads not sports cars have always been My thing anyways, so i wanted something more different. People do not get out of the way of Vette's like they do H2's and My cousin who just got a new 2006 Vette without engine upgrade, after riding with Me and seeing that there is so much more to do to the H2 than the Vette wishes He had gone H2. Especailly after My highly blown H2 blew His butt of the road out on the old Scott hiway racing road from the old days. I suggested I may give Him a scare and He rolled His eyes so after We took of all He saw was My tailights and now He is really unhapppy and talking trading if I'll help Him build His H2. Of course I will, He's My favorite cousin.

I have noticed that there are many ex-Corvette owners who now own the H2 and wouldn't go back.
I had Corvettes since 1986 including the ZO6 (which I loved) but the moment I saw the H2 at the Auto Show I knew my Corvette days were over! The Corvette is a great vehicle but nothing compares to the H2!
I do still like cheching out my old pictures though!

I actually thought about a vette 6 months prior to buying my Hummer....then i got 3 speeding tickets in my Lexus IS 300 so i figured i sure didnt need a vette...now that i have a Hummer i cannot see driving a vette on a daily basis, however a vette would be a great second car. In addition, i needed more room so when we traveled my son could have more room. Hes only 8 months old:

I would LOVE to have a corvette.
But I LOVE to off road even more. I would trash it for certain. I've never driven a car, only trucks.

I too was considering one of the new Corvettes when I bought my H2 last month. If I had it all to do over again, I would make the same decision. The H2 is so much more practical!

Klaus You a approaching My delima again that i faced before as the Mall Queen is gettng very close to being trailer only with few rides on really nice days so i'm thinking a daily driver. I want to build on off road H2 but, really would like to get back into SCCA Autocross racing. So I'm thinking hard on the Vette again. I'm trying to look into used cost on both and maybe have the off road and the Autocrosser too. The autocross rig just has to be stock because I'm not getting into the high power stuff again. But if I do the off road H2 It will be more expensive because it will be nice so i can put it in the daily driver class in shows and have a great plan I have been drawing up all summer for the build for it. Anyway thanks for letting Me think out load. Low cost Vette and higher priced off road daily driver H2 that will have twice in it what the Vette has. I guess that would be logical as I very well may roll the vette.

I traded my 03 Corvette for a 04 H2, then traded that for my 05 H2 because I wanted ebony interior, then I miss my Corvette and bought a new 05 last week.

I agree with Klaus, however if you must make a choice, you need to decide what you plan on doing with the vehicle.
They are both good grocery getters, however the Vette gets almost 3 time the mileage which is good if you drive a lot and dont haul anything or anyone. The Vette is a much harsher ride.
The H2 has all the same refinements of the Escalade (nice ride, plenty of room, nice creature comforts) but delivered with attitude.
I think the only thing to do if you are seriously considering a trade off between these two, is do the right thing and buy a matching set.

These 2 vehicles can't be compared. If you want what the H2 offers, buy the H2. If you need the thrill, speed, etc., from the Vette, then go that route.
OR
Buy the H2 and get the vette as well. If not, there really are numerous vehicles that are nicer (and some cheaper) than the Vette which can provide the same feelings.
Take the same $$ you'd spend on a Vette and buy/lease something nicer - Lotus Esprit / NSX / Gallardo - Something that's as unique as the H2.
Personally, I own a Ducati motorcycle which provides the speed, conrnering, and feel of a decent sports car, plus some!! Not to mention, it's as unique, or even more so, than the H2.
Just my .02....

Humgirl,
I would definately buy the H2!! Nothing against any Vette owners out there, but whenever I think of the Vette I picture a slightly paunchy mid-life crisis in a polyester shirt unbuttoned down to show off his grotesquely hairy chest and gold chains rockin out to Air Supply!
We have a Caddy CTS-V and I love it. When I feel the need to drive a crotch rocket I'll get in that, but since I've gotten my H2 I think I've only driven the V 4 or 5 times and thats just because My husband grabbed the H2 keys before I could!!
