If they have never done it, they will be wary and may not want to. Locally they didn't want to but I told them to go ahead. If it melts, so what, I'd have to buy another one anyway.

Tell them to "mist" the first application and it will be fine after that.

Here's an idea I didn't think of until after it was done. Buy a set of grill letter and have them apply the letters AFTER the first coat. The letters will stand proud of the coating, but still be black from the subsiquent coatings.
