A lot of what was written was true...Having lived in Miami since 1951 except for time in the U.S. Coast Guard I find it difficult sometimes doing business.
I can tell you that I was VERY SUCESSFUL in the businesses I was in. If you know your "CHIT" better then everyone else in your field you don't have to "speakie de language". The only problem is the other 99% of the smucks do need to learn it.
It is one of the reasons I want to leave the area but I will tell you it is low on the list.
I can tell you Miami (southeast florida, miami, ft lauderdale, the keys) is a melting pot of many cultures and it gives you a very large variety of things to do...
Also there are different versions of spanish with words having different meanings. The best example is the word Papaya. To most spanish speaking people it is a tropical fruit but in cuban spanish it means Pussy and not the cat version. The cubans call it fruta bomba...
