There is actually 2-3/8" difference between your setup and ours with the new Trail Duty Low Profile Plates on our H3

The BA skids do protect the shock mount. It does leave the bolt head exposed somewhat though. It alos kills g.c. back there. I for one have got hung up on them due to teh lower hanging flat plates. I got hung on both plates and rear diff. tomp's design is far superior to these skids.

the point of these skids is protection, and they do that just fine, but if you are going to push your 3 offroad and want that extra clearance, go with tomps setup. ...my 2 cents. ...esp. if you're already switching out to 35" tires, you'll gain even more g.c. back there.

My BA skids are coming off soon.
