Torque management?

Ok, first off I notice a big difference in power and torque in my 2005 H2 compared to me 2006 Envoy XL with the inline 6. (no duh!) However, I notice that when I punch it from a stop it has the same sort of "dead" feeling as the Envoy had. The power really starts to pull hard once it is moving and the rpms get up just a bit. I am guessing that this is due to the GM torque management? I had a PCMforless tune done on my Envoy, and it really changed that a lot.

Is there a prefered tuner for these H2's? I see the name Nelson comes up a lot. What is the general experience with tunes and removing TM?
