Dan,

I think kdio learned his lesson.
We've all made bad judgements before. I'm sure there was a time when you did something silly or irresponsible that made others shake their heads.

P.S. Why did he take a bath? Lucky he didn't slide back all the way like that poor sap in his Corvette at the boat launch.

I think for the good of the Forum, I'll say this...

To all the guests to this Forum who have contibuted with good intentions, I AM SORRY you had to endure my vomit.

To all the Forum Members, I am especially sorry for my behaviour. Regardless of what I'm feeling now for Detonate, the apology extends to him.

No apology for the trolls.

Let's move on...

"Gerry Garcia - like" Man, I've been called alot of things, but 'Gerry Garcia like' has NEVER been one of them. LMFAO! I can't stand bleeding hearts and especially tree hugg'n live'n off the doll worthless hippie freaks that contribute little or nothing to society. I'm actually quite the hell raiser. I put the "fun" in disfunctional. Our beer drinking club has a rock crawling problem. etc. I just loathe folks, who should be on the same side argue and bicker over lame acts and statements by a few malcontents. They are not the majority and we need to stick together. Besides, meeting new folk is what it's all about. Having thick skin helps.

I am very busy today and wont be back till next tuesday. Let us know what your plans are and we'll attempt to be there for ya. Or come do Fordyce with us. Either way, lets try and hook up soon. Nov 1. Fordyce cleanup run? We'll be there for that too.

Disclaimer: Loppy does not condone nor tollerate the misuse or abuse of hippies, tree huggers or worthless people. No hippies were hurt during the making of this post.

That's great Dennis, how 'bout an apology to the rest of us so called "Trolls"?

I've read this whole thread over several times and when I see the first few very friendly exchanges you and I had still fail to see what set you off so hard on us.

So, if this will help you, I offer my sincere appology to you, for whatever I may have done that offended you. Let us all know when your in Nor Cal, beers on us.

OK. I am only going address a couple things for the last time and hopefully clarify MY position about you guys.

1. Damage to your rigs. I believe you WILL incur damage to your rigs on the con. I PERSONALLY would not take my 40, 50 or 60K dollar rig on that trail. I think you guys are crazy for doing so. BUT! I think its COOL! I love the fact that you guys are willing to take your rigs in to a trail where damage is all but inevitable. I think its sweet you guys enjoy wheeling and are willing to wheel your Hummers. Many people are street pansie mall crawlers and I respect you guys for using your rigs for their intended purpose. I WOULD NEVER DO ANYTHING TO INTENTIONALLY INFLECT HARM OR DAMAGE TO ANYONE"S VEHICLE OR PERSON. For you guys to say I want to inflect damage on your rigs is ludicrous. How could I do that? I wont be driving. But I will not lie and say I dont like to see carnage (from ANY rig) and dont expect to see it on your rigs. I was not one of the people on the PBB saying the mean things you are accusing me of. What I have said has been clearly stated in this thread, and I will be happy to speak to anyone about it face to face, on the phone, or via e-mail. I have nothing to hide.

2. Leaving a hummer on the trail. I think I worded this poorly before. My comment was intended DIRECTLY at Dennis. Anyone that has ever met me, wheeled with me, or come across me in life knows I am the first one to offer help. I have GIVEN out many parts on the trail, assisted in vehicle recovery's, stacked rocks, winched, and wrenched on random people's rigs too many times to count. I have been on the broken side of the fence as well. Dennis rubbed me the wrong way with his threats of Guns and Violence, and I have little to no tolerance for that. I spoke rashly and apologize to everyone EXCEPT Dennis. I would drive around him on the trail as he has proven to me he is not a contributing member of the off road community. I can even sight an example of the time I was peacefully enjoying a Sunday on my couch with my wife, and got a call from a club member. A friend of HIS I barely knew was broken on the con. I loaded up all my gear and tools and parts and spent 8-9 hours helping that person fix his rig (replaced his entire front axle) ON THE TRAIL.

3. Sincerity. I was sincere from the start about helping those individuals that wish to go to the con. I had convinced my club to change their original plans from running the Fordyce trail that weekend to going to the con to assist them. Since then and due to some other circumstances group wide we have decided to stick with the original fordyce plan, but my hand is still extended to assist you guys in any runs I possibly can. I will reiterate I think its COOL you guys are gonna run the trail.

To set the record straight. I am a nice guy. I help people whenever I possibly can.....both on the trail or in general life. I view the 4x4 world as a COMMUNITY the same way I view people in the world. I am not racist against skin color or ethnic background....so why the hell would I care what kind of vehicle you drive? I might tease you about breaking something......or heckle you through an obstacle.....but I can GUARANTEE I have probably broken more parts in a weekend on the con than most of you EVER HAVE! I have been there, done that, and I too will be the first one out of my rig to offer my hand shake and a beer, and also the first one out of my rig to stack rocks, help spot, or turn a wrench for anyone that needs it.

I hope that will clarify for you guys where I stand.

This was some good advice:

The Rubicon Trail is threatened with closure! We must do our part to ensure that no one has a reason to close our trail. But it is constantly under the microscope of governmental control agencies and environmental groups. It is also one of our crown jewels of recreation. We must use it right; or lose it. Here are some suggested guidelines for using the trail.

1. Stay on the trail. Never get off the trail. Do not camp some place where you have to make a new trail to get there.

2. Leave no trace. Air down; drive slow; and don't spin your tires where you don't need to. Stay on the rocks.

3. Follow the established route. Do not create a new route or bypass.

4. Be courteous of other drivers. Don't hold up the line and upset those behind you when you don't need to or have an alternative (such as getting out of the way).

5. Pick up trash you see along the trail.

6. Talk to other riders/drivers about their bad habits if you see some.

7. Never drive into or through wet areas or meadows. Stay on the trail that avoids these sensitive spots.

8. If your vehicle breaks down, try to limp it out of the way as soon as you can so as to not hold up those behind you. Every one is on a schedule these days. And no one likes to be held up. We all want to get as much fun in as we can in a short period of time. Be thoughtful.

9. Obey the law.

10. Don't drive over vegetaion or make mud holes worse.

11. Help a wheeler in need.

12. Have fun; be safe; but be smart about our future. Thanks , Del

I went on the Norcal trip this weekend and ran the Rubicon with the group. This was my first offroad experience in my H2. I was extremely nervious about attacking the legendary Rubicon on my first trip, but the H2 did not let me down. The experience of the other drivers made a huge difference. There was a total of 7 Hummers (4 H2s & 3 H1s) on the trip, none of us had any problems making through the obstacles. We started on the Tahoe side of the trail and made it up to Observation Point http://www.californiajeeper.com/rubicon/rubicon.pdf before we had to turn around. It was getting late and did not want to be on the trail at night.

I have 37" MTRs on my H2 and to settle the argument once and for all, I did not rub my tires on the fender wells at all. In fact my H2 was the only one that did not hit the rocker bars on the rocks. The extra height made the difference in the rocks.

The Norcal group made this trip a pleasure to go on, and I thank all the members of the group for making my first experience a blast.

I will post a couple of pictures for everyone to see.

Keith and I are just trying to understand each other.

Being an ex-heeper, I do admire your rig.

Don't need an apology here (mostly because I was an antagonist as well) but I would extend the same offer from the SoCal area.

I sincerely hope so, Keith. It would be nice to get along with fellow 4x'ers, no matter which rig you choose or how extreme(or not) you happen to be. I know my H2 isn't going to do a lot of the things some of the rigs out there are going to do. But I also know that those same rigs aren't going have the duality of purpose like the H2. But I'm not gonna lose any sleep or get irritable bowel syndrome over it either.

And I never said you came in cussing and acting like Hillary Clinton pissed off. But we didn't go into PBB and act like a friend and then come back here to brag of our ****ty little deeds(like JRT).
