Alright.....I can't take much more of this. what seemed like just a friendly posting of a video for pleasure viewing, has become the most ridiculous on-going dialogue imaginable.
Regardless of what those guys did, it's what they chose and doesn't require the blessing or acceptance of anyone......particularly some numb-nuts who honestly believe their H2 is as capable as an H1. Get over it guys....The salesman at the dealer convinced you that you were buying a "real" hummer and you went for it.
I'm sure he told you it had the same capabilities as an H1, however don't you still question why it costs half the price as an H1.
I'm not knocking the H2, however you have to be realistic and stop living in a fantasy world where you think you have one of the worlds most capable off-roading machines.
How about showing us some of you guy's videos depicting some of the "hard-core" trail riding you guys are such experts at.....And I don't mean the same stuff that stock jeeps and samarui's are running.
Get a life and move on.

I have real trail rigs also, I dont need to beat on a street queen and pretend its something its not. The libby is kinda like an H2 if you want my honest opinion. Theres nothing wrong with an H2 by any means and if someone wants to own and wheel one and respect this hobby and others who do it than good for them, they are my people (and if thats you please dont read any further as I think your A-OK and I have no intentions to offend you) but for you turd burglers who flap the gums, disrespect the hobby and the people doing it (paragon and others)here we go. You really don't think the extra ground clearance of the H1 made a difference here? You are putting it all on the driver? I thought that the extra clearance of the H1 kept it from getting hung up in the muck. I do agree on the tires, and that shipbldr approached the big mud hole (where he got delayed bigtime) a little slow but not sure it would have made a difference.
These are honest questions, I am definitely a rookie and want to learn from others.

Folks out there are really that nuts about the trails?
Every once in a while we get a person (or an e-mail from a person) who acts like every tree is sacred... and in the case of some old growth areas.. I can agree with them.
Otherwise, generally the reaction we get here is "Thanks for the jobs."
I always hear stories about tree nuts... spikes and that sort of crap. We generally don't have to deal with that part of things. It's interesting to hear from someone who deals with them on the front lines. Seems thay are pretty extreme.
Sounds like you have a heck of a battle on your hands. I wonder if the tree nuts ever take into account that wheeling helps keep the trails open and passable... which is a big help when the next forest fire rips through and you're a hurry to save the 99.99% of the land that's not on the trail. But I degress.
We generally operate with the attitude that the earth was put here to be used and enjoyed. Yes, we do plant behind... but the small tree "junk wood" carnage is stunning if you've never seen it before. Those twigs get mowed down, not driven around.
I can see you point about the nuts trying to using the trees them "to make hay" about destruction. Oh well, preaching to the choir...
Thanks. It helps me understand a lot better where you're coming from.

First, you've "ran over quite a few" and then "not too many".........which way is it?

Charles,
I really do think some MT's could have helped and airing down the tires and front locker. by looking at the video, it didn't look as hard as I'm sure it was. I'm sure it was like slime out there and that always makes the trails way harder... esp. with H1 ruts.
BTW- WTH was on the roof of you GOBI rack, or maybe a better questions would have been- what wasn't?
You had a comment about the factory UC protection not being bullet proof. You are so dead on with that statement. If you are going to keep wheeling you may want to go with the Rubber duck UC protection and HD tie rod kit. With all that wheel spinning, you are going to break tie rods soon enough. Trail Duty (Phil D) can get you all that stuff too. I saw that a couple of the H1's were running Rubber Duck protection for the rock rails. That IS bulletproof.
Good luck with your repairs and cleaning that beast back up.
Tim.

if everyone thought the same life would be boring and change would never occur.
i say back up your shiat talking with actions, i know i can and do on a regular basis.
now ill throw out a smart azzed comment, anyone feel froggy against me and my rig, im always up for a friendly comp... remember rigs dont matter as all have there opinions, who want to play run what ya brung....... </div></BLOCKQUOTE>the gheyness is getting strong up in here </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

WOW you guys are so focused on trying to defend yourselves that even when i come on here and dont knock one specific vehicle at all, you try and bash me, how do you know im not on your side.... calm down just a little, ill repeat again i respect any vehicle in the 4x4 community that is being used in the capacity of off-roading, no matter how intense or how slight, i promote the sport... period. we all have our preferences and opinions.
you guys are so pissed you dont even realize that i was not knocking you ar anyone for that matter. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>Dude, nobody up in here on a regular basis is pissed. It is idiots like you that come in here challenging us in "competitions." I don't think I've read anywhere on this entire board in the 3 years I've been here where someone thought the H2 was a competition rock buggy yet because we wheel them and can make them do things off-road, less-than-smarts come in here talking competition.
You got the response you got because you DID NOT come in here just in support of the off-road community. You came in here saying "I am a professional" "i could go into bashing a ton of you" "anyone feel froggy against me and my rig, im always up for a friendly comp"
Mind you, this was your first post on this board, so excuse us if we don't think you are much more than being full of crap.

Great question!
I could have (and should have) hit the mudhole faster... but still would have hung up.
I looked at it, knew I was going to snag up any which way it went, and decided I would rather get high centered gently. The factory protection is good... but by no means bullet proof.
Dennis is just in a bad mood. (He'll be in a worse mood when he reads my reply...)
Don't let the airbags on the board push you around... Take your time, enjoy your truck on your own terms, and do what you are comfortable with.
I'm having a blast!

Now we know Paragon's full of it!
Perhaps someone should notify Kyle that he's being represented here.......and moreso, how he's being represented!
Hey Paragon, Kyle doesn't own a Hummer.....But I'm sure if he did.......it wouldn't be an H2.
