I was the 666th person to put a Warn bumper with the 9.5xp on my H2. I hope that's not a bad sign.

The Warn bumper went on at the track May '04, from your little write-up I see you had yours about 4 months later.

If this Crozet is good, I'd like to go there sometime due to it's relative proximity to Crack City.

You won't need anymore than that 9.5 XP, it will pull that truck around all day long, just make sure you stretch that wire rope before you need it...

page 3 #14 straight from the Warn winch operators manual, in bold print I might add.
"The wire rope on a new winch, and any replacement ropes, MUST BE STRETCHED AND RESPOOLED UNDER LOAD before using the winch. Failure to do this will result in wire rope damage."
On to the 9.5 XP. Do you have one? Have you used one? I do, and used one daily for quite a while on a H2. Hardly anemic, in fact the XP is the most underrated winch that Warn has. It pulled up 7 16" steps at a 40 percent grade faster and cooler that a MM 12K (which smoked). If you need more pull, use a snatch block.

I noticed that page 5 #27 says that "MarineHawk is the Winch Master!"
Seriously, the only winching I've ever done was yesterday when I let some cable out, connected it to the recovery hook, and cinched it tight. Yet, I feel somehow like have known my winch for years. Is is possible that I was a badda$$ wincher in a previous life?

You have to spool the rope under tension to set a memory to the wire rope, this makes it easier to spool the next time you use it. Second, you need to make sure the lower wraps are nice and tight. You will not be able to always be on the first wrap when you use your winch the first time, if you were able to do that, stretching wouldn't apply. If you don't think you need to stretch the rope, call Warn, ramsey, or MM.
Paragon, why do I have to be a dumbass, I've been wheeling for 20 years.

Thanks. Where is Tellico? What's it like?
Has anyone been here? http://www.xjsrule.com/April_05_pics...05picsmain.htm
Some people call it "Crozet." It's near Charlottesville.
I may just go exploring the national forests roads pretty soon, looking for camping and hunting spots. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>
Tellico is near Murphy, NC. Several of us from the forum are going the first part of March. You should join us. Tellico is a National Forest. http://www.tellico4x4.com/catalog/tellico_trails.php?os...56fc347e0b46ab586b5d
