I disagree. Civil disobedience is directed at a government, not the people.

This is crime, plain and simple.

Pretty much going thru the list that Beastmaster posted. Police report, DMV, fixing the mount, buying replacement lights, frame, etc...

Are you trying to get into my knickers or what you scallywag??

Well,.. I was trying to convey the point that gas and property tax monies go to each state which in turn goes to leftist supported programs so they shouldn't bitch about the H2.

Hope you find the f'ker. I'd love to string cretins like that up behind my truck to see how long they can last while bodysurfing at 50mph.

Here's what you should do. File a police report. Stolen plates are stolen plates. Per this link, you might need a Police report to get replacement tags/stickers.

http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/brochures/howto/htvr11.htm

Then follow the instructions from the California DMV here:
http://www.dmv.ca.gov/vr/vr_info.htm

------------------------
Replacing plates and stickers.

If you are the registered owner, you must replace any lost, stolen, or mutilated plate(s) for your California registered vehicle.

To obtain replacements in person, you must:

* Visit a DMV field office. Make an appointment for faster service.
* Bring your California driver license, ID card, or out-of-state/country driver license or identification (ID) card and a secondary photo ID.
* Surrender the remaining plate(s).
* Complete an Application for Plates, Stickers, Documents (REG 156).
* Pay the required fee:
o to replace regular plates and the year sticker.
o to replace a year sticker only. (The month sticker is free; mention if you need one.)
o for a duplicate registration card only.
o for replacement Special Interest License Plates, Environmental License Plates, or Veteran Organization Decals.
o If both your personalized plates were lost or stolen, you will not be able to obtain duplicates with the same configuration. You will need to choose a new personalized configuration if you wish to continue with personalized plates. The fees for the plates will depend upon the type of plate you wish to order.
o to replace a California Clean Air Vehicle Decal.

Important: If your current address is different from the address on DMV’s records, you must also provide:

* proof of ownership. (A copy of your title or registration card.)
* a police report, if your plate(s) were stolen.
* a vehicle verification completed by the California Highway Patrol, if replacement plates were previously issued.

If you are the registered owner and you wish to obtain replacements by mail, you must:

* Complete an Application for Plates, Stickers, Documents (REG 156). Be sure to include your California driver license or ID card number.
* Mail in the remaining plate(s).
* Pay the required fee:
o to replace regular plates and the year sticker.
o to replace a year sticker only. (The month sticker is free; mention if you need one.)
o for a duplicate registration card only.
o The fees for replacement Special Interest License Plates, Environmental License Plates, or Veteran Organization decals.
o If both your personalized plates were lost or stolen, you will not be able to obtain duplicates with the same configuration. You will need to choose a new personalized configuration if you wish to continue with personalized plates. The fees for the plates will depend upon the type of plate you wish to order.
o to replace a California Clean Air Vehicle Decal.

Mail to:

Department of Motor Vehicles
P.O. Box 942869
Sacramento, CA 94269-0001

Important: If your current address is different from the address on DMV’s records, you must appear in person and complete the application. Read "To obtain replacements in person" above to properly complete the application.

If you are not the registered owner of record , you may submit the application and all the requirements listed above if the address of the registered owner of record has not changed. The license plates will be mailed to the registered owner of record. If the registered owner’s current address is different from the address on DMV’s records, the registered owner must appear in person and complete the application. Read "To obtain replacements in person" above to properly complete the application.

If you just purchased or acquired this vehicle and you need to obtain license plates along with transferring the vehicle into your name, read "To obtain replacements in person" above. DMV considers you the new registered owner of record.

it was actually sarcasm
should be starting at $30,000/yr minimum when i get out
and considering i live comfortably on, say, $10k a year, i'm going to be "rich" then.

also, to clear things up, i have nothing against suv's that aren't absurd, ie 12 mpg or minitanks.

But an H2 is like hunting with an assault rifle. Yes, the second amendment is there, but come****ingon...

Was at the Home Depot today between 5 to 9pm. When I get the H2 to load up my 2 carts, I noticed the rear tire was swinging open. Puzzled, I pulled up to secure the pin, and noticed that someone had ripped "out" my license plate!!!

Very violently done -- the metal license plate holder (that came with the SMA rear tire carrier) was bent out of shape in 3 places. My new, beautiful cast steel chromed flame license plate frame was broken in pieces ...

Called the police, said nothing they can do. Told us to stop by the station that covers that Home Depot in morning to report. WHAT IF THEY USE MY PLATE TO ROB A BANK TONITE???!

I do have the second (front) plate, which was in my garage since I never install it. Should I use it to drive meantime? If not, how do I drive with no plates? Anyone knows if DMV can issue new plate/numbers immediately? Anyone has license plate holder for the rear carriers to sell?

Nothing else seemed to be touched.

The so called “assault rifle” is just a modern version of the “rifle”. Modern engineering and manufacturing techniques have made them more effective for performing their intended task than rifles of the eighteenth century. Now go and read the Declaration of Independence and you will understand WHY the Second Amendment exists; certainly not for hunting game.

If you are “hunting” tyrants and oppressors of liberty than you should have a rifle that is seriously capable. You most certainly will want a modern and efficient rifle and not the Saturday afternoon bunny popper. In the same vein, if you want a vehicle that has excellent off-road capability, a relatively large payload and towing capability, and room to carry five in comfort for long distance at freeway speeds, and you want something seriously capable of doing so, then the H2 is a likely choice.

So yes, one might say that the H2 is like “hunting” (conducting battle) with an “assault” rifle.

Report it right away! If they were personalized then they won't issue the same plate. You'll have to go with something else. My gfriend had XTSKI on her Jeep in college and it was stolen. She couldn't use it again. Get to DMV and have them give you a temporary or new plates.

sorry to hear that!

Exploding People? GFY-- that wasn't funny.

Maybe because we're not a bunch of pussies.
We enjoy playing with the trolls. It's really fun. Kind of like solving a retarded Rubiks Cube.
Banning is saved for the really offensive trolls. Being stupid doesn't automatically qualify for banning.
