Honestly folks, let's not turn this into a preaching session. I've heard all the factors into wearing seatbelts, I weigh the positives and negatives. If something happens to me, that's my issue. I have no kids, I won't be leaving any kids behind if I die as a result of my choice. All I want to know is whether the beeping is incessant or not on those occasions I do not wear the seatbelt.

Let's keep this on topic, okay? I know what's good for me and what isn't -- I know wearing a seatbelt 100% of the time is considered safest, but I also know that at certain times, as a larger person who doesn't fit all that well in seatbelts, the distraction seriously affects my driving. For the safety of my passengers, at those times, I do not wear my seatbelt. Some may agree with this policy of protecting my passengers, others may not. I don't really care -- all I want to do is keep it on topic.

Sorry, I promised myself I wouldn't reply to the distracting posts, but I feel this thread will turn into a seat belt debate if I don't say something.

Class??????????? If the use of foul language gets his point across - then I guess maybe he does, but that's not class in my book! You didn't want an argument at the dealership with a salesman face-to-face, but you sure started one here...
I think if you feel you have had your question answered then you can quit posting...

sfox, the seat belt chime is not a safey feature, it is a reminder. Do you think someone who does not wear a seatbelt, will wear one because of the chime? I dont think so. It is funny you brought up the helmet thing, because that is exactly what was going through my mind when this post started. I have been riding for 17 years, and racing for two. Nothing bothers me more than people that dont wear helmets. I even felt a sense of "told you so" when Busey busted his noggin. I see first hand at the track how much a helmet does for a person. I even hate the litttle half shells my buddies wear. With that said, I try not to harsass my friends too much about it. I know that there actions result in higher insurance, ugly accidents, or worse, but it is their choice. If they do it here,VA, they get ticketed. If they do it in DE, it is OK. You can't change their minds. I think that in general, this is a decision that usually only affects the individual. I wish we were that lucky with a lot of other personal choice issues. Anyway, SEAT BELTS ARE GOOD, AND I INSIST THAT MY WIFE AND FAMILY WEAR THEM, but, I am not ready to be-little those that don't feel the same as I do. Glad to get back to a rational discussion with someone.

Froggy -- how long would you say is "a while?" It definitely is an issue to me -- not only is it distracting, but I've found on other vehicles, if I learn to block out the beeping, I also find I've blocked out things like sirens and horns -- so I actually find the beeping a safety issue in itself!

First of all, I NEVER ASKED HOW TO DISABLE A SAFETY FEATURE. Clear enough, everyone? All I asked is WHAT IS THE NOTIFACTION???? Pretty simple f-ing question, if you ask me (or any sane, normal, DECENT human being).

Second of all, Paragon, I already told you I am middle-aged. Yet, you presume I am a teenager. Okay, how about H45? Want to call me that? (that's not my exact age, but it's more in the range).

Third of all, why the profanity and anger over a simple request?

Forthly.. did I say I was "plump"? I could stand to lose a few pounds, but height is also an issue, and so is back pain. I need to move around when I sit on a long trip, not always possible with a seat belt.

What a bunch of annoying people. Geez, I guess I will just rent one and test it myself. I still hoped there was decent humanity, people willing to treat others with respect in this country, but apparently there isn't. And we wonder why so much of the world hates us -- this thread is a perfect example. Grow up, morons.

Are you in the same class with H17?

I'll make you an offer, feel free to come visit me in Jackson before I make it to Va Beach. I'll be in KC at the end of Sept and Moab in Oct. I don't have anything to prove and have certainly not wasted my time attempting to prove anything to you. You brought it up, I gave you the way to answer your questions, simple as that. If you want to act like you want to answer them more directly, you're stupid.

I had you pegged from your first post in this thread, huh? It was too easy too. You even jump on the females responding in like kind to your responses to me. I'm sure glad the 17 year old looks up to you and sees class. He's the only one.

Not being around long enough to respond to a post, **** you again. Listen prick, if you want to keep this going, then by all means I will. Or you can shut up, and be a man, but like I said, I am sure you are a little person who never was picked for the team, if you know what I mean. I am not the forum police, I just was answering a posters question, when you decided to preach to all of us. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>Do you ever seem to have a comprehensive thought or do you just string together a few nouns, pronouns and verbs to try to get by. As far as the condescending comment, if you take it that way, apparently you have your own issues to deal with being low class and inadequate.

Let's ponder this from your recent encounter with the keyboard. Exactly how does one get personal with people they don't know?

"Not being around long enough to respond to a post, **** you again." Now, that really takes the cake there. Surely you jest. You can't possibly have us believe that you can be that dumb. You really think that I wasn't referring to how long you have been a member of this forum? I mean, of course you knew that I was referring to the fact that you were trying to police how one is supposed to post on this forum and you've only been a member for a few months without much contribution during that time.

And can you please, please qualify your next post for me. Like "But since you decided to go there," or "I wanted to stay out of these rediculous arguments" or "I guess I got dragged in"

It's quite obvious that you are projecting your previous life experiences on to me in an attempt to somehow insult me or madden me. This little person syndrome you have has now continued through several posts is the most self-evident thing you have posted.

Now that I have poked and prodded you because of some stupid comments, let me bring something to your attention. You stated early in the thread, "I really find it offensive to see people preaching to adults." What in the hell makes you think H17 is an adult? If you can't comprehend his dumbass reason as to WHY he wants to do and see through that then you need to forego dispensing any advice.
