it was me!!! I hooked it up at the amp and..... it didn't work, so i figured I'd call them and see if I could figure out what was up.... Well, it has to be connected at the head unit even though the connectors are the same. I told him you most likely did the same thing i did. It's hooked up now and it works great!! I love it! The device does exaclty what it says it'll do! The fade function is really useful. Cheers!! Everyone needs to order up!
btw.... let me know when you go to install. I'm now an expert on removal/installation of the stock components. NICE!!!!!

I'm sure everyone would still like to see the pics to give us ideas for our setups that we may not have thought of! Thanks,

My C2A-GM24 arrived today as promised. However, it does not function! I spent time with the PAC tech-support on the phone and they said it must be defective.
They want me to send it back before they will send me another unit. HP Distributing was no help as they said they can not get more of them for two weeks and the four they had sold instantly (one was to me).
Sooooo MSXer, it is up to you to tell us how it works.
Some of the interesting things that the install guide said is that you can have the unit adjust the volume based on the fade setting on the factory head unit. Also, if you turn the volume all the way down it will shut off the remote amp circuit. It said nothing about the tone controls on the radio so I do not know if they effect the output of the interface or not, I suspect not.

I think that's the issue....determining the power-feed for the factory amp. My installer says that he cannot locate one.....says this system is just like the one in some Cadillacs.
Because the power feed for my aftermarket amp is not the same source as the factory system....I lose that when I turn off the ignition. I don't want to direct-wire it and be responsible to turn it off each time but would like to enjoy the feature where it stays on until the doors are opened if possible.....
Any suggestions on where I might go to investigate this further ? Maybe the dealer ?

pewterpower--> This device does exactly what you want. It provides a remote turn on feed for your amps. Basicly, your amps should have a heavy gauge power feed like 8 or 10 gauge that goes directly to the battery or main power block, then you utilize the remote feed from the PAC device to switch the amps on and off. Just like any other aftermarket headunit/amplifier setup.
cool!

NSXer
Was it you that they were working with when they figured out what I was doing wrong? Karl said another tech was working with a person who knew of my postings.
