G-wagen,
I loved the video and we all love pics of Hummers being used as they were designed. You are entitled to your opinion but why don't you try to back it up. Whether you are or not, your posts make you sound like a troll. I do this...I do that...I wheel harder than anyone in the world...my rig is the best off road rig there is...but I don't have any pics to show you of me wheeling my vehicle. You have got to admit, you sound like just about every other troll that has crawled in here with that crap. I hope you actually do wheel your rig but unless you can back up your claims with at least some pics, no need to bring it up. Next time, get an H3 with adventure package and see the difference.

I'm sorry, I didn't fully explain. My truck is in the shop and the dealership's Enterprise office offered me the H3. I had fun with it, but it is ill-suited for heavy-duty use such as rock crawling or even going overland at high speeds. The H3 is too softly sprung and the suspension bottoms out and slams into the bumpstops. It is a very disconcerting experience.
I thought the H3 would make a nice little truck for my wife, but after driving it, I will not buy one.
Here's my rig. I don't have any crazy photos because I am usually by myself.
That rental looks like a base or lux. With the adventure offroad package It would have been better for major offroading.

After a call to my favorite Lynch Hummer Guy the Adventure has foaming suppression in the shocks and an anti hyper extension feature that base and lux do not have.

I keep getting tempted back to this stupid thread. I looked at the specs for the ugly G-wagen and it doesn't even have a sunroof available.
I'm still trying to convince my wife that she shouldn't laugh every time she sees one because they cost three times as much as an H3 and the owners may be sensitive about being laughed at.
Best regards, Happy Jack

Top Gear recognises the G-wagon as the ULTIMATE POSER-MOBILE (<--linked)
- virtually useless offroad!
( unless you stick to puddles no deeper than 4")
...the only way they would even look at the G-Wagon is if you first took the "25 year old lumbering box" and had AMG specially tune it!

Kind of reminds me when people would rent Shelby Mustang GT350s from Hertz in 1966 and take them out at race them on the weekends. I had a good friend (OK maybe someone closer than a good friend) that rented on a Friday took out the passenger seat and carpet, took off the air cleaner and spare tire, raced it on a Satuday, replaced the interior, cleaner and spare tire and returned it Sunday night. Nobody would touch those GT350H Mustangs when Hertz sold them for around $3,000 and look at their value now.
I think renting an H3 is a great way to decide if you're not sure. IMHO these machines sell themselves!

G-Wagen, no worries about the capabilities of the 500, yes it is a great truck and top notch at that. But the H3 is a third of its cost. Can you tell me honestly how ****ed was the H3 after you jumped it. And dont you think that your 500 would have experienced some problems if you were able to jump it and land it at the same speed. Lets be honest, no stock truck is ment for that kind of abuse, if thats what you want to do with a truck > thats what the after market business is for. And Please take down that self portriat and put back the money shots. Only Kidding as most of the people in this forum should be. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>
Well, since you asked nicely, I put a couple of the photos back. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>
How f*cking generous of you....

I call BS, or maybe it couldn't get enough speed up the hill to get air........

Im a technician for Mercedes-Benz here in california. Im also a proud owner of a H3 Lux, adventure package & 5 speed. So far every G-Wagen own Iv talked to thats came into the shop, regrets buying it. They have problems like any other car. As far as off-roading, iv been out with other G-wagens from the shop. G-wagens have less ground clearance and cant flew
for ****. Also have too high of a center of gravity. They also use the same powerplant and transmission as whats found in the family E-Class.

It really is too bad that many here like to resort to calling names for lack of better ammunition. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>I still don't see any pics of your G(hey)-wagon doing shiet.
Here's a pic of an H3 getting some air.
