I personally would have kicked at least one of them in the front of the knee, moving his knee cap to the back side of his knee, to permanently remind them all how to act properly in public! In 20-20 hindsite, I'd have followed those idiots while calling my wife. I'd have her come and grab the kid, then follow them alone to take action. If things had gone wrong, you wouldn't want your kid sitting there vulnerable to their retribution.

Normally I would have done that. But sometimes waiting and too much time thinking about what will be done, my rage notches down a few steps and I normally lose my courage. Especially in a scenario where I'm outnumbered.

And the fact that the element of surprise is gone. They would have been more prepared for the confrontation.

In this case, shock and awe prevailed.

Yup. That why I said 20-20 hindsight. It's easy to assess after the fact. But I'm 100% certain I'd have done what you did, right there on the spot.

I guess it makes a good case for carrying the bear spray with you. Of course, you should be carrying handguns too. But this would be a case of offensive action that you wouldn't want to actually kill them.
