Putting up a flag that represents a sexual orientation at an elementary school is bordering on criminal IMO. Can I put up a PlayBoy flag? F-ing BS!!!!

Wow...talk about apples and oranges DRTY. So a flag with a rainbow, or Purple triangle (or whatever symbol the choose) is the same as a Porn symbol? Someone is close minded. I forgot how much of a homophobe you are.

I won't defend their actions other than to say that we can do without more hate. I think the idea was to celebrate diversity, different cultures, why Timmy might have 1 mom no dad, 1 dad no mom, 2 moms, etc... Nothing about sex per-say.
Besides, if they wanted to protest, they should have protested at a school board meeting NOT at the elementary school. Say what you will about the orientation, politics, etc of the adults, the kids do not need to be pawns.

They're both sexually related. Easy enough concept to grasp. And I'm not a homophobe - you rode in my H2 in Moab, didn't you?

This is going to ge my last post on this topic. I have no desire to get into an argument with you, DRTY. I'm merely reporting what happened.
Flags from every nation on earth were on display. This single flag was an issue of contension in the community. Both sides of the debate had valid arguments. I did not state what side of the issue I'm on or wheather the desision by the school board was a good one. I do not believe that it was. Elementary school is no place for this discussion.
The thing that suprises me here is that while we agree that the children should be protected, you seem to be taking the side of the protesters. I may be mistaken, but the tone of your remarks seems to be that protesting in front of the impressionable children was a good thing. I hope that I am wrong and that this isn't what you were implying.
The decision of the school board was wrong. The act of these nut bags to protest in front of an elementary school was much, much worse.

But they are both from Missouri
Still a big Chiefs fan and probably always will be but they better start doing better. The Royals on the other hand are pretty embarrassing.
I heard that KCK is trying to get them to move over by the track if they build new stadiums. Any news on this?

What the f$ck does a gay pride flag and flags from countries around the world have to do with each other. That school board was wrong, no doubt run by a bunch of liberal politically correct pussys.
This round goes to the religious wackos!

Absolutely keep the children out of this. Shelter them form this kind of crap(hate AND homosexuality). They deserve to be able to have a childhood without dealing with these two groups of kooks.

Now they're trying to get 600 million for stadium renovations and to put in a rolling dome that can cover either stadium. They keep talking about it but they'll never leave KCMO. Already have a minor league staduim at the speedway anyhow. People actually come out and watch them play.

What about the kids that are born gay? They should be taught to hide that from the world? That being gay is not acceptable? Whether or not it fit in with this Flag day is one thing...but saying that children should be sheltered from anything homosexual to allow them to grow up normal? That is just ignorant.

Don't see the rolling dome working out but I agree, also don't see them leaving KCMO. I think a lot of people would be pissed about having to drive out by the track for games. I lived in OP and would rather drive to the current stadium than to the track let alone if you live on the Missouri side.
Didn't know there was a minor league team there now. Are they any good?

Pretty decent team. Great stadium. Parking is free. Seats real close to the field. They're called the T-Bones.

Spike...it can't really be proven either way...but I have known a fair number of gay people (male and female)...and most (if not all) say that they were born that way. It is not a choice.

Was there a heterosexual flag present? Didn't think so. Not sure if we even have one. No reason to glorify ones sexual orientation. "Hey look at me" syndrome. Fact is this doesn't belong in schools ... especially elementary schools. Kids are ending up dumb enough these days without this kind of crap taking place in and around schools.

I was born with an affinity to large breasts. Does this mean I could have carried around a flag with a pair of huge hooters on it at a school function? But I was born that way...

Of course they are going to say that Dr. Shaggy.....this way they can project the blame elsewhere. Apparently the people that use that excuse are harboring guilty feelings towards their chosen sexual orientation. There gay but not proud.
But this discussion is not about whether people are born gay or if it is "aquired" as they develop in life, that would be a subject for another thread at another time.
This discussion is about a group of maniacs spewing their hate for certain groups of people and the knuckleheads that try to counter that hate by ramming tolerance and diversity down everyones throat! What the f$ck ever happened to free will???????
