Hiya Mac.......the interior is painted to match the exterior.......here is a pic of hubby's interior, for some reason we don't have one of mine. But we painted the TV as well so I will get some more pics and put them up .

I think the most it has done is played in a dry river bed....lol

We did somewhat the same thing with ours......darkened the background so the H2 would stand out better.
